Gypsy Punk.
Heard of the genre? I hadn't before I saw the review for Gogol Bordello's live show in Kerrang! magazine.
Wikipedia says:
Gogol Bordello is a Gypsy punk band from New York City, although many of the members are immigrants from Eastern Europe. Much of their sound is inspired by Gypsy music, and the band incorporates minor-key accordion and fiddle mixed with cabaret and punk energy, dub, electric guitar and drums. In New York City they're known for their frenetic, hungry stage shows in the Lower East Side.
I have their latest album "Gypsy Punks" and I must say, it's very enjoyable to listen to. Anyone else heard of them/going to check them out?
There are a few tracks on their myspace page. http://myspace.com/gogolbordello
