What I do is I go into the mission select screen (the obelisk), select any mission (go with the Pata Plain just in case), and get to the point where you have to select your groups and equip them or whatnot. Select the group that you want to remove a soldier from and highlight the soldier you want to remove. At the bottom of the screen one of the options is to retire (or something similar) a soldier. It is irreversible, because he dies. So, make sure you unequip any special weapons or shields or whatever first. When you do this he kind of melts into the ground.

hm, i only have equip, cancel, switch, and optimize.

oh, and, nothing wrong with being the villian ;)

[edit - ah, i thought quit meant backing out. but, thats retire.]

what level are your bosses at?

dodonga lvl 4
majidonga lvl 4
zaknel lvl3.

both the dongas were a bit of a pita, but, i barely beat lvl2 zaknel. i only had 4 archers and 1 spear guy left so i wont be trying him again soon. it was weird because i only lost one spear to lvl zaknel. but, i got two succulent meats and a hinoki materials from it. i also got a titanium ore from lvl 1 zaknel. and at least 1 titanium ore from each donga.

mission wise, i should be at the "battle for heave ho oasis" and ive two side quests, the dancing tree and the prissy plant thing. the tree is easy since you only have to repeat its song. the plant im not sure, so, i try to keep up with the flashing white square as best as i can.

im just going to keep talking to myself at this point

lvl4 donga ate one of my patas, but, the named weapon it was using was still in my inventory.

I haven't played in a bout a week so I only have dodonga lvl 3 and Majidonga lvl 2.

I need to put more focus back into it, but I have been a bit distracted with work, other games, and whatnot.

i wish theyd give me more weapons and shields. materials for pons isnt a problem. ive troubles with the baby mountain and catching food some times, but, the tree and the stew is really easy.

ive a few helmets but i dont have any pons that can wear helmets.

i like how the first hunting location is still worth coming back to. specially if you can attack the flowers for ka-ching. then theres a special red flower that only grows when your patas are in fever mode.

in the first desert, theres a huge vine/flower that grows somewhere between 1/4 and 3/4 through the map if youve rain juju in effect.

the mountain king boss was easy and i only took a few losses due to my sloppiness to the lvl2.

i had to redo the fort map a few times because i kept letting rocks fall on my patas :S

next time i play, i need to get a lot more ka-ching so i can make some giant club wielders. between fevered horse-pons and the clubs with a rain of arrows, should make anything run for cover ;)

i hope im nowhere near the end.

Is there any benefit to hunting in the desert over the plain? I saw the creatures had a different design, but I don't get any different stuff. All I can see is that I get less from the desert because if I don't time my rain juju just right (or screw up the drum beat and lose fever mode) the Motikis can smell me coming and run off.

i hope im nowhere near the end.
It is supposed to be 30 hours, so check your save file. And usually that 30 hours is based on reviewers playing through as quickly as possible to meet a deadline.

I just created a Patapon thread, so I suggest we continue this there, where everyone expects to see it.

i really want/need to get a carrying case for it, but, i cant afford one atm. about to become a broke college student. id like one i can wear as a belt or have a belt clip that way i can listen to my music at work.

im not too concerned about videos since watching those at work would get me in trouble

I can suggest a good travel case that is hard and will protect it. It even has a clear plastic screen protector that clamps down over the system so you don't have to take it out when you are using it and it stays in if you drop it.

No belt clip though.
