Yesterday I bought my first xbox 360 (second hand) just to play Forza 4 so I'm completely new to all this xbox live and points stuff and I'm looking for your wisdom

I'm not playing anything else except forza 4 so is gold membership worth it??
I'm not a big online player so I don't worry much about that, but will I still be able to buy dlc, play rivals mode and modify liveries with a silver???
That's really all what I'm worried about.

Also, can I buy dlc directly with my credit card or do I need to buy points first???

Thanks ;)

Gold is mainly for online play. With Silver you can buy DLC, play Rivals, and modify liveries (that's offline). However, you won't be able to access clubs or gift cars, and you won't be able to buy/sell cars, tunes, or liveries with other players, IIRC.

You also wont be able to accept gifted cars from other peolpe.

You need to buy Microsoft points first before getting DLC. Look on different sources (local stores, online stores, Xbox dashboard offers) so you get the best deal.

Thanks for your replies guys.....I actually did end up buying a 1 year gold membership because I found out that in the race online section you could build any custom race imaginable (number of laps, opponent cars, type of race, etc....) and still race only against AI which is amazing!!!.....plus buying liveries from other players.
