Gone with the wind slip stream mission broken

This mission seems broken after the 1.7 update. I have gotten silver with 247.3mph before the update. Now I cant break 243mph. Ive put in roughly 12 hrs on this mission. Ive read threads amd posts about trying to get a good wind but its always at 0ft/s in my game since the update.

Just tried it out and got 404 km/h (251.0 mp/h), and the wind was always zero from the various attempts I made.

So it's definitely doable. My recommendation, besides trying to get the most amount of slipstream from the other cars, is to shift the car a bit early. The Veyron's peak power is at 6000 rpm, so don't shift later than 6500 rpm. Also, try to be smooth with the steering.

Thanks, I have tried numerous settings on this but I havent tried the manual transmission!
What is the order of drafting? In my game its always white, red passes blue and by the time I catch red its time to move over to the yellow car. The lead blue car is always way out of reach. Thanks for any help.

Yeah, so the order is the silver McLaren, then the red Ferrari which gracefully moves over before you ram it (don't bother slipstreaming the blue Ford), then you slipstream the yellow Ruf and end with the black Lamborghini. I always reach the black car before the end, so I have to move over to not crash.

Here, two runs I did with both transmissions (first in automatic, then in manual), with controller. Automatic is slower, but because of that you are under slipstream for a bit longer than in manual, so it kind of balances it out.

Thanks, I was trying for 2 hours this morning before work and the best I could do was 246.3mph. I cant seem to get enough speed to get in the slip of the black car because the yellow is hogging the left side of the road. Im guessing I need to catch the white car faster. My best runs Im able to catch the white as its moving to the center and the red is passing the blue.

Just out of interest, is your throttle on your chosen input device actually reaching 100%?
 
Great news!! I beat it first try! The throttle bar was the issue! I noticed it was full during the rolling start and dropped a little when it started. I switched to right stick for acceleration and beat it the first try. Now I know this is the issue for a few other missions Im having trouble with. Thanks for all your help! One last question.... should I just buy a new controller or can you adjust it somewhere in the game?
