So I have 2008 R2 64 bit installed as my webserver and I had an idea to make a blog page to write down my progress in GT5 when it comes out, thus creating a FAQ that I'll submit to GameFaqs.com when finished (in text format only, I know). But I am not sure what Blog software to install. I hear Word Press is good, but can I customize it to integrate with my css and html to match the rest of my website (www.jumpace.com)? I did a quick search and couldn't find anything about Blogging software, so my apologies if I missed another thread :nervous: Oh, and I'm having some trouble getting my IIS 7.5 to recognize my .php files, my browsers want to download the .php file instead of display them and none of the posts on google come up with my situation, help there would be great too. Thanks in advance!

A lot of my friends have been using Squarespace for their website hosting and editing services. It has an outstanding WYSIWYG editor, and the plans are affordable as well. I know of a way to get you 10% off the lifetime of your order, if you're interested as well.

My friends and I are thinking about doing a podcast again, and I'm planning on hosting our stuff through them.

Yes, you can. :) It has a nice admin console where you can edit the css and pages. There are also many, many plugins available for you to use and incorporate in your blog. Installation is also very easy. And it's free of course. :)

You can indeed customize Wordpress to integrate with your existing design, but personally I would take the opportunity to move away from the tired Dreamweaver template you're using, and simply do a clean install of Wordpress with a theme from their extensive database. Just my two cents :)

Thanks for the info guys. Depending on how the WP install goes and how I like it, I think I might take you up on that idea Jondot 👍 No time like the present.

EDIT - Well I got the blog started (www.jumpace.com/blog), so now I guess I'll either pick a theme and/or modify a theme I like. Oddly enough, I can't run localhost/phpinfo.php, it still wants to download the file, but it ran the WP installation so who cares :D I think IIS 7.5 required some minor tweaking in the mapping handler for php to get recognized via Fast CGI. I ended up using the new Microsoft Web Installer 2.0 program to install PHP into the program files folder (instead of C:\php), made the necessary php.ini changes and voila WP works.
