Good news for LAN mode

You don't need an online account to play the LAN mode in GT4, which is a major bonus and means there is no problem connecting machines that have not had accounts set up on them and the relevant memory card inserted.

It also means you can connect between debugs and Japanese machines, flip tops and modded machines.

And using a HD VGA adaptor means you can now use a PC monitor for better results than a HDTV set.

What HD VGA adaptors are out there now? Years ago when I looked for a way to play my PS2 through my monitor I only found the Redant VGA box, which had mediocre image quality at best (very dark too).

But while the Redant adaptor doesn't provide nearly as good an image, you will need something to display GT4 prior to it dropping into HD mode before the race starts. If you have an NTSC PSone LCD screen that would be ideal on the side.
