Now I almost put this in race-reports, but I see "best 1/4 mile times" thread is here in the main GT4 forum.

I actually added as filler to a DVD I made up for my brother-in-law as a Xmas stocking-stuffer a recording of a replay of me winning the Nurburgring race of the GT4 DTM series in a stock CLK-DTM (no oil change, I think).

I did a smooth lap for me, with only one little drive-along "off", after the first of the two red-and-white wall thingy corners at the top of the track. The question may come up as to how good a lap I did. I think there's probably a minute left for good drivers, in that I did only do a 7:15. (I've done only slightly better in the Abt Audi).

So, is 6:15 an achievable time for a stock (mildly adjusted) CLK-DTM in this race? R3 tires. Or have people done even faster than that?

I searched but couldn't find DTM Nurburgring lap times either listed here, or, apparently, on net databases. A simple pointer to the database where I should look would be great, too.

in the DTM series I can usually pull off a 6:50 or so starting 6th, I'm sure I could go faster but driving at the ring just for a fastest lap seems a bit time consuming for me.

There's probably a better place for this, but atleast it's some discussion.

In the CLK-DTM I have been able to get a time under 6m50s.

But in the AMG Mercedes 190 evo DTM touring car(black, old '92ish) I have raced around the Nurburgring in under 6m45seconds. Not the best time time but better than the new CLK :)

Indeed there is a better spot for it.

This forum would be it.

Thanks for moving it. With the way the search engine works, I didn't have any trouble at all finding where it's gone (in comparison to not-so-good'ol-days at other forums :) ).

Sorry about not finding this forum initially.

Thanks for the responses, too. I guess I'm not doing as badly badly on the lap as I thought. I think with R3 tires there is less time for experts to find compared to sports tires.

So it's 30 seconds I'm losing, or about 1/2 second a corner. (There's really only about 70 actual turns on the in-game (and current real-life) Nurburgring; 100+ numbers are an exaggeration).

I should do a B-spec (10,000 B-spec points) sometime, too, as a bench-mark.
