Goofy for golds?!

NOt a driving question at all. But has a gold on a license test ever been so hard to get that once you DID get the gold that you just about go nuts in the living room? Just getting all excited?

Just curious. Its happened to me a few times.. Doesnt take much.

And, how about the "close but no cigar" license runs where you finish a few (less than 8) thousanths off the gold and wonder how the hell you are going to do that again?


Just some comments for the GTP'rati.
 
I never really went nuts when I got gold for the first time on a hard test, maybe some fist-pumping.

I remember though S-license was annoying in a way, because whenever I did a really good first sector I would always lose concentration and make a mistake. I remember in S-8 in the GT-ONE I pulled the most outrageous 4-wheel drift at turn 2, tyres squealing the whole way through the corner, and ended up with a 22.6 first sector. Then, accelerating away from the really slow hairpin, I carried too much speed into the next corner, slid, overcorrected, and hit the wall almost head on! I thought, how stupid was that?
 
I'm mostly just saluting the PS2 with my Middle finger when I gold something (in GT4P lately - waiting for the real deal)

LMAO That sounds about what I do to. I get quite excited and middles do fly occasionally. But wait the middles fly when im not so happy too so I guess either way my PS2 sees the middle fingers. The only difference is sometimes when angry the middles are followed by the projection of a controller or a fist. :lol:
 
Sometimes when I get mad trying to get gold I scratch the carpet with my fingers like a cat! I must look stupid when I do it. I make sure no one is lookin though.

First time I golded S8 I got so excited I did a web search and found a GT web site and told every one. No, it was not GTP so dont go looking for my first post here. I came here because some one tossed a spanner in the works over at the other place.
 
Not that I can remember. The only time I was at the edge of insanity was I think beginner or amateur turbo race. SSR11, after the 20th+ or 30th+ lap, I got it.

I was happily insane.. then I saw the prize car. I was quiet after that.

I just sty calm. But on the inside I'm happy. But if it dowsn't go, I just turn it off and go to bed.

My best memories were on license test with that camaro uphill in Seattle. I was trying for like 2 hours, just lowering the time, ended about 5 thousands of a second under the gold. And after doing licenses for almost whole day (it was second time around so I wanted to start GT3 with all gold) I said to myself at 22:00 I go to sleep. And in the last try before the clock pointed 22:00 exactly I made it :D. I was so happy, that I kept on playin' till morning :).And got all licenses gold so easy. Just that camaro was really really tough for me.

I "prefer" to loose a bit temper and let of some steam (just shouting on AI competitors) when I honestly do my best, not to touch anyone, and one of them hits me in the rear hard :D.
 
Ha. I went pretty ballistic when I beat the Evo MR test at Tsukuba, and the McLaren 10 lapper at Fuji, in GT4 Prologue.
