Info on the simulator

"First of all you'll have to install the latest version of Google earth. Once you've started it all up...then all you have to do is hit Ctrl+Alt+A (if you're running OS X it's Command+Option+A; some people have reported that Ctrl+A or Ctrl+Windows+A work when the standard Ctrl+Alt+A does not)...

http://earth.google.com/intl/en/userguide/v4/flightsim/index.html is a list of controls on how to fly

For those who don't wanna buy any of microsoft flight sims which lately are only for high end computers...but love flying regardless

Control with the mouse I think is the best way, so have fun and tell me your thoughts! :)

It's really cool viewing your hometown from 30,000 feet above the air and flying down toward it and other movement.

Aaaw, the latest version is only supported by MacOS 10.4, I'm still on 3.9. :(

Leopard will be out soon :D

That's why I'm not upgrading just yet. Plus I hope to be getting a new iMac pretty soon, since they released the new models. :)

I just found some really cool things on Google Earth, the area around by my house is made up of 3 different sets of data, all acquired across various years when a road was being built. I thought this was quite cool;

And here is the same road from further away, notice the area on the right;

And an old electrical pylon laying down in a field. :) It was more impressive from the ground though.

This thing is actually pretty cool. It's a little disorienting without a joystick, but still quite fun.

I found it, but I crashed about 7 times in 1 minute and gave up.

CMON DUDE, CONTROL!!

the key to this thing is not to over do the turns and not to stall the plane, just do light taps on the keys. its pretty fun flying over some famous bridges and buildings

You can fly with the mouse, I found out. Click once and then the mouse acts like a joystick. Up makes the nose point down, down goes up, and left/right controls the ailerons.

I dont know what im doing wrong but i load up the flight simulator and my plane just wont move its just stuck im planting the throttle but what ever location i try i never move, somebody help!

Are you pressing the up arrow? you have to press the down arrow to take off, and make sure you didn't hit the space bar, it causes the game to pause.

From,
Chris.

or you can use the mouse, just click it. To turn, hold on to shift and the direction you want, and slowly move the mouse left of right, but not to much. Press C to center everything, and you're good to go

I can't get it to work either. I'm on a Macbook pro with OSX 10.4

Anyone know what's up?

Edit: Nevermind, I got it. pretty slick. Hard to control though. :D
