The failed experiment entitled “California”.
I didn’t realize the max credits you can have is 20 mil. That would explain why I haven’t gotten a single credit in over a month.

what cars should I buy. I’d like to get a couple that’ll I’ll actually drive or have fun hotlapping in. Or are any of those 20mil cars actually worth it??

If you want to get back up to 20m as quickly as possible, the Ferrari 330 P4.

If you have the Lewis Hamilton DLC, all golds will raise the Max credit limit to 100m.

As for the unicorn cars, I like the Jaguar XJ and the Shelby Daytona. :)

@Pigems and @Famine are wrong. Go with the Ford.

Or go the route of the Sultan of Brunei and get a Ferrari in every color.

I did the Daytona first too.

Then the 330, then the Mk4 GT40 and then the XJ13 and will probably make it to the 250gto.

But at this point they are just money sinks. There isnt much use for them at all.

Ford GT40
Mazda 787b
Shelby Cobra '66
Sauber Mercedes C9
Nissan R92CP
McLaren F1

Why? Sorry, I'm almost new in GTS world.
You can enter the Nostalgic 1979 events in Professional League. These races give quite a good return in a pretty short period of time if you get the Clean Race Bonus (CRB).

The Ford MkIV, Jaguar XJ13 and Shelby Daytona will all be able to win these events, but the Ferrari 330 P4 is the fastest out of those, and therefore the easiest to win with and take the least amount of time (albeit you're only shaving a few seconds but still). So if you're interested in earning a lot of credits quickly, the 330 P4 is the way to go.

If you want something to actually win the Nostalgic 1979 events (which is the main GT League event for these old expensive race cars), the Ferrari P4 (at 20 million) is the fastest one. I got my P4 as a birthday car though. The Ford Mark IV and Jaguar XJ13 (also both 20 million) can win them too, and I've also notched victories in those races by powering up the cheaper and less powerful old race cars, if you have the mileage points to upgrade them.

I ended up getting the Ford MarkIV and hot lapped Dragons trail for 30 minutes. Super tall gearing, brakes that go away if you sneeze, and way tail-happy. But it was a blast
