Got a big problem with the DFP! HELP!

The wheel has been working without problems up until just a moment ago. I accidently hit the wheel, and when I checked if everything was fine, I couldn't calibrate the wheel on Game Controllers under Control Panel.

Still the wheel worked. It worked fine (900 degrees) in the GTR demo and Live for Speed. It also had both lights on.

No matter what, the control panel wouldn't allow me to calibrate it.

So I uninstalled and reinstalled Logitech Wingman Profiler, and just as I feared, it recognized, the wheel, made 2 turns and half, clicked in both left and right, but now it sits with the left light on.

I don't know what to do. I don't think the wheel is busted.

Damn, everytime I reinstall Logitech Gaming Profile, it skips the Calibration part.

I'll give them a call tomorrow. I still have the receipt, from Circuit City. Got it in March, so it is less than a year.

Crap, now I tried the GTR demo and the pedals are messed up.

As I said, both lights are on, but I can't test the wheel on the Control Panel section. It displays my wheel for a second, then it gives me a message in red saying "The control is not responding". I press the pedals and turn the wheel but nothing registers.

Can I say that I tried the wheel with the Wingman program?

Hitting a $150 wheel was a baaaaaddddd idea. next time hit something that won't break or have no value. And they won't take the wheel back if you broke it.

I gotta think about that... everytime I am racing GT$ and those SOB AI cars throw me out of the way or inflict me a penalty, the first thing I aim to hit is the wheel, but then I think again and hit the stand...

ok. plug the wheel out and deinstall the logitech profiler software. then reboot the pc and download the clear calibration utility from logitechs wingman-team. run it and reboot the pc. now install the software again and plug in the wheel when it says so.

you should now have a freshly installed nicely calibrated wheel.

you can only run the calibration once, when you install the wheel. it is not possible to do it again through the control panel.
you can however, repeat the calibration part of the installation later through a DOS command.

under XP its this:
C:\WINDOWS\system32\rundll32.exe "C:\Program Files\Common Files\Logitech\WMDrivers\WMWizard.dll",WMWizardMain

under 98 this:
CD C:\Windows\System
C:\WINDOWS\rundll32.exe wmwizard.dll,WMWizardMain

Pardon my ignorance, but isn't the DFP for PS2 and not the computer? Or do you need to calibrate the DFP on a computer prior to hooking it up to your PS2?

it was originally built for the PS2 and GT4, but you can also use it on the PC since logitech wheels are all similar in a way. now its even unofficially supported by their pc-driver software and quite a lot of people bought it for pc use only..

i wouldn't!!! to Logi the DFP was "designed for the ps2, not your PC"

make sure the cables are all plugged in well to the computer and the power supply is fully plugged and if it's on a power strip make sure you didn't kick it off (well actually, you said the lights are on so forget that, it's getting power).

i bought my strickly for PC use. i gave my PS2 to my little brother! haha.. pc games rule.

i'd open the cover plate and make sure you didn't dislodge the optical sensor on the FFB motor. also make sure the FFB is plugged in to the PCB with it's quick disconnect wire leads.

does the wheel move at all? if not it sounds like your FFB motor is not working correcly. are the lights just solid or are any of them blinking?

Do what Vladimir said, that should work unless you're physically broke something inside the wheel in which case you're screwed.
