Ya, just picked it up a couple of days ago. Starting to get the hang of shifting with the clutch (much harder than real life)

If you have any tips or tricks that would help become a better shifter please let me know!

Also, if you have any sources of wear I can buy simple mods for the wheel eg: shifter knobs etc.

Thanks!

Another person from Vancouver here. My friend has the g27 wheel, I like it a lot. You playing mainly on PC or ps3?

I've been quite happy with my g27. After using it for a decent amount of time I am starting to see some room for improvement. First thing I did was swap out the stock shifter unit for the Thrustmaster TH8rs. I like it a lot more. Feels nicer to shift, and while playing rally sims, you can use the TH8 as an analog ebrake, which is VERY handy. My next biggest issue is the stock brake pedal. I just don't like it at all. I was looking at a few possible options, upgrade springs, nixim mod, AP electrix load cell, etc. Finally decided on just upgrading the pedals entirely and going to place my order for the Fanatec CSP V2's shortly. Hopefully I will be happier with these pedals.

But really, overall, I think the g27 is a great setup, even out of the box. I mean, for the price, its tough to beat. I'm sure you will be quite happy with your purchase and have no regrets.

edit. Check out derek spears for wheel adaptor plates and different paddles as well as new pedal pads.

I've modded my G27 quite a bit, and have another big mod in the works (LINK).

In my experience, the single best mod is a simple one: a GTEye spring for the brake. The exponential feel in the pedal is really good. It is tuned so you hit the stiffest section right around where most games start to lock up (with ABS turned off :))

The DSD stuff is really nice too. Add a Bodnar cable if you are into PC gaming for higher resolution pedals (doesn't work for consoles as the pedals are plugged in separately). I'll stop here as I can get carried away!

Another fellow Vancouverite.

Does the T8Rs Shifter work with GT5?

Yes, I have no regrets glad I bought it. I want to get an aluminium shift knob,
and see if I can change out the logitech badge on the wheel for a car badge, maybe a BMW or something.

Thanks for you comment.

Uhm, you might want to do some research, but I don't think you can use the TH8rs with the g27 for gt5. Don't believe me though, as I have never tried.

As far as replacing the logitech badge with a real car manufacturer's badge. I don't see why not, shouldn't be that hard to do. Worst case scenario, remove the logitech piece, add a couple of washers so the wheel isnt loose, and velcro on whichever emblem you want to use. I mean, thats not the best way by any means, but it would work.

Anything is possible. Good luck to you and your new wheel.

Tyson.

ps, there seems to be quite the number of local people for us on here. Kinda neat.

Can you do me a favour?

Can you post a picture of the polarity of the G27 ac adapter? I should be located on the back of the wheel or on the power adapter.

It should be one of these:
