Well this may be old news for some of you guys but Septembers Top Gear magazine has a piece with the title PLAYING WITH THE GRAN MASTER about the GT series and K. Yamauchis trip to Millbrook.
I guess this happened quite a while ago (the dates not mentioned in the article) but theres some interesting info (that the sceptics may find interesting read):
Such is the power of GT that car makers are now coming to Yamauchi, not just begging for their cars to be included in his games, but also for him to work for them. Nismo now sell aero parts for Skylines and the 350 Z that were designed by Yamauchis team( A different piece in the magazine lets you know that you can get the 350Z bodykits for an extra £1,500)
"gran Turismo has changed the fortunes of TVR in Japan (...) and also helped create a market in the US and UK for the Skyline, Impreza and Evolution."
Also, apart from many private owners who took their cars to Millbrook, bosses of Ginetta and Marcos were there in person. Almost every Marcos ever made is featured in gt4
Other cars the article mentions are 1949 VW beetle, Morris Minor, Renault 4, old Alfas, Lancias, MGs, Alpines, Triumphs, the Morgan Aero 8, a Lotus F1, 1950s Bentley Continental, etc.
Plus, after Millbrook, The Man was going to Italy!
On a different note, KY apparently is a chainsmoker who evens carries his own portable ashtray round his neckat least when hes out trying other peoples cars!
