What are some of your funniest/worst/memorable memories about Gran Turismo 5's inital release of the game back in November 24th 2010? Haha I remember this one race, it was a full grid of calsonic GT-Rs at Rome reverse, and a little over half the car grid started at the grid positions of the start of the race in the oposite direction.

Although there is also one race along the Nurbirgring in GT5 I'll never forget. There was about 11 of us coming around the last corner of the Nordschliefe till you get to the long main back straight, and we were running 2 groups 3 wide. And all of a sudden we realised the sun was coming up, so one of the guys bailed from the race, ripped a 180 and just parked at the top of the hill. Eventually most (but not all) of us did the same and the 7 of us sat there at the top of the hill and watched the sun rise above the horizon in the distance. Nobody said to stop either, it was one of those random "goes without saying" moments with just a bunch of strangers. Sadly the moment didnt last too long seeing somebody was desperate for a win and finished the race...
 
That last story sounds awesome and infuriating at the same time
 
Dragging down the tunnels at SSR7 in an un-tuned GT-R SpecV and beating everyone...until full transmission tuning became available :indiff:
 
I also have a story about the nurburgring. I was battling for 2º or 3º place with another driver (can`t remember it was years back). We knew we wouldn`t win the race but we were the stars of it (many spectators were commenting about our battle). We were like 30 seconds behind the 1º placer. At a point the other driver loses control and goes to the grass. I could have continued and get a solid place on the grid but i had another reaction. I stopped the car and waited for the other guy to catch up. The battle continued until the race ended 👍
 
I remember when I first borrowed the game from Blockbuster, and bought a Yellow NissanSilvia Spec-S S15

I still have the picture of my drift *cough* handbrake *cough* picture on SSR7
 
Well, driving a X2010 someone gifted to me and being a badass online :3. Well yeh. And buying a AEM S2000 Drifting like a Failure.
 
Cracking open the game for the first time and awing at the graphics.

Probably the time when I hosted a Spa lobby and set up a bunch of PP races. Got so many good races in, I was having a blast. I really need to do that again...
 
I was in love for the first week (time transition and over all graphics). Then the flaws became more evident. I still play with friends to this day, but as far as I'm concerned, GT5 was mostly "dead" by early 2011.
 
i remember buying this one at gamestop when i thought i was gettin' it for my b-day then it got delayed 'til nov. 24
 
I still remember how giddy i was when i popped it into the tray. The anticipation was lessened however due to the hardware update needed for online play.

First gameplay memory would have to be unleashing my stagea with my friends doing suicides on the final turn in Tsukuba. Was some good times.

One lost gamesave later, the drift stagea is better than ever and i was even in a heated tsuiso battle for a good 45 minutes last night
 
I remember when I won my first online race in 2010. The race, which was 5 laps on the Nurburgring GP circuit was really close, yet clean. Finishing first was such an awesome feeling. :)

The topic was about the game around the 2010 launch. PP was added months down the road, and Spa wasn't yet available when I last played in mid-2011.
 
First day memories - the big install. Had to hunt around in the menus to find the option to do that.

I don't know...PD had me so hyped up and expecting the be-all and end-all of racing games. Once I started playing it I think I was fairly disappointed actually.

I remember my first online race. I was in some car I'd never driven before. Spun out going into the first corner and took most of the field with me. They weren't too happy about that :sly:

Getting tricked by a friend was my first memory cause I didn't get it till Christmas. So he'd played a month before me, said he'd help me out by sending me a car. The Fiat 500. I soon learned the value of tuning.

Whoops, misinterpreted the topic.

It would have to be making my first dirt track and driving around it with a Focus WRC. I was greatly suprised at the graphics and gameplay, and to this day I still am (to a much lesser extent).
 
I remember doing a drag room with a bunch of Premium members; and I also have a lot of fond memories of using the Accord Coupe for a lot of races in the pre-PP days where there was more car variety.
