Gran Turismo 5 install problem

Hi,

I recently had to restore my ps3 due to corrupted files. I tried to do the 8gb or so install, but after an hour it was still at 15 minutes remaining and the bar was only a quarter way there. After another 15 minutes, nothing had changed. The HDD light was flashing and I could access the XMB, but the install seemed to be stuck. I AM aware that it's supposed to take around 50 minutes, but I waited around 1.5 hours and it wasn't done. I cancelled the install, and the game data counts almost 2gbs of game data. Is it normal that the install takes that long and can I continue the install later?

I think you should do it again without quitting. I want to say mine took like 2 hours but that was in November. From what you wrote it appears you grew impatient and quit prematurely.
 
Alright I'm installing it again and it's been going for around 50 minutes already. It's been stuck at 2 minutes left for around 30minutes and the progress bar doesn't seem to have moved in that time. It's still about a quarter way there. The Installing... thing in the bottom right corner does flash pretty often, and the HDD indicator light on the PS3 is also flashing. Should I just let it continue?
 
There IS something funny going on in the installation process.
I have noticed that the progress bar doesn't move at all if I am at the PS3 screen. I switch the AV, watch some TV, and when I go back it has progressed.
