Lunard submitted a new resource:

Gran Turismo 5 Sound mod - Based on GT5 Master mod ver. 1.9.1

Say goodbye to vacuum cleaner sounds on GT5 cars.
Is time to give a love to GT5 too.

This mod aims to tweak the engine sounds from almost all cars in Gran Turismo 5, using samples ported from
GT6 Spec 2 mod, made by TheAdmiester and Nenkai, and porting my samples, from GT6 Career mod, and making some
adjustments with some good sound samples created by Polyphony Digital, for get used on the right cars according to
engine type and displacement, and also decreasing the racing transmission...

hey, just wanted to say that this mod is awesome! the sounds in the gt6 career mod are already superb, and it's great to have them in gt5! i've actually started a new playthrough just for this, it really does elevate gt5. now i know this mod is just for sounds, but are there plans to expand this more, like a second career mod almost? or maybe restoration of the cut events. the master mod had them before, but they were removed in an update and it'd be great to see those, as the career in gt5 doesn't have the best variety. just a little suggestion though, by all means do what you think is best. have a lovely day!

You can create new events for GT5, but I believe there is a limit to the number you can add. New events tend to break quite easily in my experience when I've had a go at adding them, possibly due to the the limits being exceeded.

Hello, thanks for feedback.

I tried to create custom events for GT5, but with no success, because is much harder to do this on GT5 than on GT6.
Anyway, continue to enjoy my mod.

yeah i understand, i've heard that gt5 is a bit of a problem, thanks for trying though! i guess i'll experiment a bit with favourite opponents and see where that takes me!

How would I go about restoring the original transmission whine? Because I'm sorry. but removing it shows a complete lack of knowledge of how racing cars with straight cut gears actually sound like. You did a great job with the engine replacement but the removal of the transmission whine was a piss poor decision. That single handedly soured the mod for me and I would like to restore it myself.

Hello.
Thanks for feedback.
But I don't know at moment which file I can edit for mod by replacing the racing transmission sound.
So the best decision I took in my mind was decreasing it's sound volume.
Edit: One more thing: I made this decision taking in mind that some cars, like Pagani Zonda Race models and 60/70's American muscle cars, for example, has a too loud racing transmission noise, that don't sounds good if I'm using the bonnet camera.
So, even if I replace this sound, it won't be good on these mentioned cars, since I don't know how to fix this issue.
So, I don't do that for lack of knowledge of how a racing transmission system sounds, but for don't know how the game works on this point.
