I'm not sure if t has been announced yet but the new MSRP for Gran Turismo 5 XL Edition is now $20. http://www.gameplox.com/2012/08/08/rumor-mill-sony-dropping-tons-of-games-prices-on-august-14th/

Right now Amazon has the XL version with a limited promo that includes a 30 day bonus trial of PlayStation Plus. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B006JKARN0/?tag=gtplanet-20

I removed the referral in the link I posted so you would need to click on the "30 new from $19.90" link to find the amazon price.

I wish I knew about the price change before I bought DLC. It's a good deal because of the $20 voucher. It would also be nice to have all the updates up to spec II on the disc.

Note: I do not work for Amazon. I only posted because of the new price which is a good deal. The price can be found at most big retailers but the temporary promo may be exclusive to Amazon.

This is good news if you're waiting for 6.

Are you thinking the price drop is because GT6 is just around the corner?

Your post did get me thinking though. Perhaps they are clearing inventory for a US GT Academy version. That is nothing but wild speculation but it does give me a reason to wait on purchasing a newer disc.

I'm still kicking myself for buying over $20 of DLC last month :ouch:.

The European version (gt5 academy edition) has all the dlc on the disc as far as am aware.

I briefly looked though a thread here on that version. https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/showthread.php?t=259806

Would that version work with a U.S. PS3 and/or a U.S. PSN account?
