Gran Turismo 5 XL Edition quesions~

I've just found out that an updated version of gt5 is coming out,So now I'm wondering how this will work.

Do I just pop the new disc in and My old game save will load up? ~ Wondering if any Issues will arise~

Or do I have to restart gt5 if I get the new XL disc?

I dont know if this helps, but I used to have 2 GT5 CDs. I bought it when it first came out, then about half a year later I bought the Signature Edition. It worked fine and the new CD merged with my old save, so I gave away my old CD and im using this one now. But, If you already have all the updates etc. why buy it again? Since you already have the updates I dont think you'll see any difference, just the box art?
 
Not really that i wanna buy it again.But not sure if I will Need to
(old disc become's obsolete?)

If I can still use the original disc I'd be happy :)
