I'm pre ordering GT6, but when I checked EBGame's GT6 page, it says that GT6 is 'Mature 17+'

I'm pre ordering it tomorrow. I'm over 17+, but for the GT players under 17, they won't be able to get it.

Is GT6 really mature? I don't think it is. It might be EB/Gamestop's error. A

Anyways, why is it rated as M :boggled:

Unless we can get out of our cars and kill other players, there is no way GT6 would get an M rating.

Don't say that. You can get in real deep doo-doo for saying something that goes against the AUP. Killing other players? I'd be surprised if you don't get a warning for that :D

The Forza series doesn't deserve a track like Bathurst! Turd10 and M$ Probably signed an exclusivity deal so hardcore sims like GT6 can't have it. Just goes to show you that Sony is just a small company that would rather make you happy than make a profit!

I heard you'll be able to install hydraulics and bass cannons in Forza 5. That's so arcade! Arcade games don't deserve great real-world tracks!

Please tell me you're being sarcastic as I don't think he meant in any way to be talking about actually doing such things. I think he was just using that as an example for one of the only reasons that GT6 could be M.

Pretty sure he's not going to get a warning considering the way he worded it. And I don't understand why you have a smiley face next to you saying he'll probably get a warning for that. Do you not like him or something?
 
Nice find there bud. :) That is very strange, EB Games should know by now GT games are always rated "E" "Everyone".

Wish we could get a M rated one with all the proper advertisements on the cars. I can handle ads for cigarettes and booze video game industry!

It might be because the game hasn't been rated yet? And to be better safe than sorry, they rate it M until they have a rating?

Either that, or they've taken the damage model to a whole new level ;)

Maybe we can leave that to the Carmageddon reboot, though.

Which reminds me, I've not had my fix of Severance (Blade of Darkness) for a while...
 
rated m because of the soundtrack maybe? Something similar to what we see on Cd's nowadays ( parental warning for explicit lyrics) if I rely on the experience with GT5... my game could've been rated R with all the bad words my soundtrack is carrying...
 
It's clearly a misidentification by that site.

GT games don't have "explicit lyrics." If you remember, even Papa Roach's "Getting Away with Murder" was censored to simply "Getting Away..." in GT4 (title and the lyrics). That's just one example that I can think, but that's pretty extreme censorship. I'm pretty sure even the title song for GT5, MCR's "Planetary (Go!)" was censored in GT5 iirc.

In the absolute worst case that lyrics have anything to do with the rating, an M rating would never be in question -- maybe a Teen rating for some mild-ish lyrics but even then, there's no way Sony would every let a few unnecessary lyrics in a racing game make the difference between an E rating and a T/M rating. GT6 is obviously going to be rated E for everyone.
 
As a matter of principle, I refuse to buy any racing games that are rated anything other than "Everyone" by ESRB.

I think this is the right reason, because I can't find the rating anywhere on the ESRB page.
