Okay so I am new to this game but I instantly fell in love with this game.

I have little to no knowledge about cars but find myself to be learning very quickly.

So far I have competed 50 races offline I have not lost one race so far. Couple of close calls though.

Before I start playing online I want to start tuning my cars without copying anybody else. So I will use an example with one of my cars.

Mazda RX7 RZ I believe the year is 96 but can't be too sure. The first upgrades I got was Race Brakes and a Hard Suspension. I do a couple of races then I buy weight reduction, drive shaft and twin clutches.

My times keep getting better but only buy a second or two. I have a problem because my back end starts to slide and sometimes I get pretty close to spinning out. I don't want to put anymore performance upgrades on till I get that fixed

Can anyone help

Move your ballast weight back to the rear put look at it like a truck when its snows in the winter, people put something heavy in the back bed to give it more traction making the wheels stay more on the ground, just move it back don't add weight to it, that should help you, start out with about a 7 distribution then take it from there moving it up till you find it to your like.

Start with learning how to tune the limited slip differential. If you become a master at this, you will start to get fast online. Both the ghosted stock settings and the standard settings in the fully customizable LSD are way off. Both tend to use really high LSD Accel numbers and that one setting alone tends to make rear wheel drive cars loose on exit.

Read my guide on the LSD and learn how the changes affect the car. I always tune the LSD first, then move on to other settings.

Here are starting points for each drive train. I start here with every new car that I buy, then fine tune. Take a browse through my tunes and you will see the different fine tuned LSD settings that I came to.

FF - 7/12/5
FR - 10/12/7
MR & RR - 12/12/10
4WD - Front 12/15/7 Rear 10/12/7

Hope this helps. Welcome to tuning.

it's kinda of interesting knowing that as good of a driver and tuner you are that you start so low with the LSD. I usually start with initial and decel at 6 and accell at about 20. if it's still loose or unpredictable then i make adjustments to tame it. Different styles I guess but interesting to know the different processes of different tuners. Now that i'm talking about it, I might add my tuning process to my garage page.
