This post - and some similar comments over the past few updates on our socials - is a good example of a thing that a lot of people don't quite get about Gran Turismo still, somehow.

Driving your own car is just as much a part of it as driving something aspirational, or a status symbol, or some racing cars. It's why we're getting some common CUVs, as they're increasingly becoming cars that people actually drive.

Which is why I'm disappointed about the focus on Corvette ZR/1 and Z06 models in the game. Almost nobody buys these versions.

The most popular C5 and C6 versions by far are the Grand Sport variant. We had a C5 and still have a C6 Grand Sport. Detuning the in-game car doesn't really cut it.

PS I wonder how hard it would be for them to "edit" the Z06 to make it a GS. 🤔

Hahaha wow I see Honda CR-Vs ALL THE TIME. They’re very popular down here in Melbourne. What’s next, the Nissan Qashqai? A car that my Aunty Anne drives? As for the Carry, I can see it being an absolute laugh to race and drive because it’s small and slow. The C5 Corvette was a long time coming as I’d been speculating about its return for several months. So to the 812. Ever since the data leak, it has stood very close to the top of my most wanted list. I’m soo happy to have it ticked off after all this time. A satisfying update indeed.

Great update, everyone been wait for the 812, the c5 will be a great drift car, the kei will make for some fun spec races and the crv could be fun for drag racing if it’s awd and gets a swap

In terms of events:
  • The 812 is obviously Ferrari Circuit Challenge.
  • The Carry is a kei car so is likely to be Lightweight K-Cup, although they could decide to just make it Sunday Cup if they can't/don't want to tune a Carry to 400PP.
  • The Corvette is likely American Sunday Cup 700, although there's an outside shot at a Corvette-specific new Bonus Book if PD are feeling nice...
  • The CR-V is awkward to place. It's far too fast for the Sunday Cup, but the next level up for Japanese 4WD cars is either the JP Clubman Cup 550 or the JP 4WD Challenge 600, both of which would have it going against Imprezas and Evos and Skyline GT-Rs. Maybe they tune one up for one of those two events? Not sure.
What I'm really hoping for is whether the Carry will be eligible for the pickup events, in the same vein as the Midget in the older games. 🔥

If not next, the Qashqai/Rogue Sport or Juke/Kicks can't be far away.

We've had consecutive C-CUVs from Honda (well, C/D-straddling), Mazda, and Toyota (B/C-straddling), so yeah the Nissan equivalent isn't likely to be too distant.

Agreed some more entry level sports car variants like Corvette grand sport and base 911 Carrera would be interesting. I dont drive SUV/crossovers in real life and never see them at my local track so they really do nothing for me in the game.

We FINALLY get the C5 and people are still complaining. I guess it's true, some people really do complain just for the sake of it. I'd rather take a Z06 over no C5 at all. Better late than never... ;)

It think I can speak for the entire state of Texas here:

Anyways...Slowly but surely, they're giving us "traffic". I love it.

This update is one of the most representative of the GT franchise than I can remember.
We have a very wide range of cars (a Kei car, an SUV you can find around the corner, an extreme luxury car that we probably see only in pictures and a classic corvette we all love)

The ones complaining about this update are really playing the wrong game.
I dont understand what do they expect 🤷‍♂️

I'm just glad my 812 is finally in the game. Nobody thinks of us poor Ferrari owners at times like this.

Where's the Fiat Panda?
On a screen in some 3D modelling software in PD's offices.

We did say in the article that the previous times we've seen cars shown this way they've been ~3-4 months away and not to expect it this update.

Am I wrong in thinking that the CR-V comes with an automatic transmission, instead of 6-speed manual that seems to have been also available at that time.

Wiki article doesn't mention what box goes with what engine, but since it's a hybrid, I'm guessing it has the automatic box.

Also, can anyone tell just from the trailer alone if that Suzuki is 4wd or 2wd?
Tried my best slowing down the trailer with best quality and slowest speed but can't tell anything.

When we gonna get the promised endurance races, Kaz?
As time goes on, I get the impression that they count the Spa event as the 24 hour endurance, and The Human Comedy as the endurance races. Not really what we expected, but PD do things their way.

As it goes, I wouldn't mind The Human Comedy as the promised endurances if they had a payout each time.

Give us more city tracks FFS

Also Aston Martin Vanquish 2001 the best car ever created (iny opinion)

Anyway sound nice update as usual still but Yeah

Meme cars are nice once in a while but now we get one in every update... I just want more race cars :(
What's a meme car in this update? We have a Corvette, a kei car, and a family car, all have which have been staple GT classes since GT2, and an Italian supercar, which has been series standard ever since they could get the licenses.

I get the "meme" label for stuff like the Unimog and Himedic, but this is about as "standard Gran Turismo" an update as they come.
