Porting Of The Current Version Of Polyphony Digital’s Racing Game To PS4 May Naturally Evolve Into GT7; Patch 1.04 Features 4 New Cars To The PS3 Game
Previous reports suggested that Gran Turismo 7 release date may be set for this year.
A post on International Business Times shared the top 5 rumored games coming this 2014. Included in the list is Gran Turismo 7. Furthermore, it also cited a post from Mirror stating the Gran Turismo 7 release date might happen this year.
The game "will be launched on PS4 in 2014 despite the sixth in the series not even being available yet on PlayStation 3," the Mirror post reads.
Moreover, Kazunori Yamauchi, the CEO of Polyphony Digital said, "We don't want to take too long on Gran Turismo 7. Best-case scenario? Next year."
As posted on Examiner, Kazunori Yamauchi made a few comments regarding the future of the Gran Turismo series during a stage event at the Taipei Game Show held last month. Accordingly, the producer of the GT series was asked about Gran Turismo 7.
He admitted that the dev team is still focused on updating Gran Turismo 6.He shared, "Although our resources are currently focused on updating Gran Turismo 6, we're also looking ahead. We'll be able to announce it at some point in the future."
Moreover, Yamauchi also expressed in the past that the team is interested to port Gran Turismo 6 to the PlayStation 4, and according to Examiner, the producer hinted "that the project may naturally evolve into "Gran Turismo 7."
Meanwhile, a recent update for the PS3 game Gran Turismo 6 brings in four new cars which are "Mercedes-Benz AMG Vision GT Racing Series, Corvette Stingray GT Concept '13 and two types of the Gran Turismo Red Bull x2014" according to Polygon.
The patch 1.04 of Gran Turismo 6 also offers an updates list of prizes given during seasonal events. There is also a birthday log-in bonus which bestows players a free car released around the time of their birth. Also, players can now remove the Ghost Replay button in the Arcade Mode Time Trial of the game.
