The pit stops in GT7 are not consistent. Some pit stops / courses "HAVE" a longer or shorter amount of "lead up" time to the point when you have controller input to make your pitstop selections. Sometimes when I make a pit in a race due to excitement, stress, or numb fingers, I accidentally select an unintentional choice that ruins the entire race event. I understand once the fueling part of the pit stop starts. There's no going back which is okay. However, when you accidentally select no tire change or no fuel at all. You can't go back even though the actual pit stop sequence animation has not begun. Give us the option to hit the back button and change out pit choice selection. If we linger too long in the pit stop because of our indecision that's on us and you only lose just a few seconds, not the entire race. However, when you can't go back you skip the selection accidentally The infamous double tap. Your race is over. You select no tire change or how about no fuel when you're out of fuel on Nürburgring and you are forced to do an entire 15.77 mile lap without fuel.

Example pit stop:The World Circuit Race GR-1 Prototype Series Race event at Circuit de La Sarth has gotten me on the pit stops several times because the car seems to enter the pit before you actually get to the pit and you immediately have controller input to select your tires and fuel.

I typed this out a few weeks ago and hadn't posted it yet. However, it got me again for this week's Weekly Challenges final event I entered the pit and all I have is the option to stop the refueling process. Somehow again I skipped the tire change option yet and there's still no option to go back. Does anybody need rain tires in a downpour you can have mine because apparently I'm sticking with racing slicks for the rest of this rainy race. Sucks. Got to do this event again.

They added the pit-stop track map in an update once, so your wish is not completely unlikely.

Ya, I would go so far as to have the camera follow the car down the pit lane because sometimes it seems like you are waiting SO LONG...or even a timer until you hit the box. As the OP mentioned, allow a change of selection until that timer expires. I've selected the wrong tires often, and outright skipped the fueling when I was near empty.

What are you even needing to press to end up skipping the selection constantly? Like I get it's silly there's no back options but surely just stop pressing the skip button when pitting.

It is even harder on wheel if you have a funky switch. Erk !

True, but it happens to a ton of people so this feature would be great and not that much work I guess...

It happened to me a few times when I had the shift up function mapped to X. Nowadays I shift with the right stick though, so no longer an issue for me.

The "X" button is the select or confirm button. It is also the same button I use for shifting gears. I only push it two to ten times for every curve on a track. The cursor to confirm your choices is hovering over the icon to select tire change confirm soon as you enter the pit. See the video I posted.

Skill issue. Technically.
Meet me on the track we'll see 😜

The easiest fix would center the cursor on the screen when you go into the pit so that it not be hovering over the confirm button. Or just add the ability to hit the back button.
