I'm shure many people was aware of the rather nice Turismo Informer. A project I really would have liked to take part in.

I was wondering if anyone has ever thought of doing something like that again. A E-Zine testing cars, just like car mags, only instead of driving real cars, to 'drive' cars in Gran Turismo and write about it.

I'm shure many of you here would like to see something like that (again). :)

Yeah, I saw something like that on GT3, it was interesting but I never really took much notice of it as I pretty much had all the cars in GT3 at the time, but for GT4 with so many more than GT3 it would be much better.

Yeah, and it would provide nice reading material.

Well if you wanted a head start you could ask some the guys playing GT4:Prologue to contribute what you're after.

I never herd of it. Is there some samples of this somewhere?

This forum is the best E-Zine in the world.

It is most recent and most accurate. Only one I'd like to read along is german granturismo.de, but I don't speak German so that is not possible.

Yeah, this is news to me as well. Can anyone link us to it, or ellaborate a little?

I think it is a great idea, and I hope it becomes a reality for GT4....

;)

Unfortunetly it doesn't exist anymore. Shure people can come in here and talk about the cars and tracs, but the Turismo Informer was testing cars, doing 0-400m and lap times ect. and then writing about it. Just like car magazines.

Oh shure people can do their own laptimes and reading a E-Zine probably isn't going to persuade them to buy something instead of something else (because most people are going to try and own all the cars).

So whats the point of a E-Zine I hear you ask, well for a simple reason. Entertainment. The Turismo Informer was a great read, and I don't see a reason why a new E-Zine on GT4P and GT4 should be any different.

To be honest I would really like to start something like this, unfortunately I'm a bit hopeless with web designing to actually publish it.

I did something like that HERE and HERE using GT3. It was alot of fun and I got some great feedback. I'm definitely planning on doing something similar when GT4 comes out.

if it comes out an special E-zine I wish they could include some sweet pics of chicks! ...cus we are all men arent we!?:D  :odd:

...serous though..I think it would be a nice feat and if they had some on-league races and standings etc...cus GT4 is on-line avilible right? :odd:

I agree it sounds like a good idea but surely if you look at the specs of cars and use your knowledge you surely should be able to figure out/know whether they have understeer/oversteer, bad speed and etc.

You can't tell how a car drives by looking at it's spec, you can get an idea, a general rule is a FWD car will understeer, but thats still only a general rule, look at the Focus RS, over 200Bhp and no understeer. Saying you just need to look at the spec is like saying the Impreza STi and EVO VIIII GSR drive the same, they are similar, but not the same, also.

Im going to see what I can do to get a E-Zine going. Wish me luck please :)

I didnt say just by looking at the specs, i also said knowledge. If you know the e.g. Focus RS doesnt understeer IRL then in GT4 it should act similar.

Fair enough, but not everyone has that knoledge. I think a GT4 e-zine is a good idea, it would hopefully be an interesting read for everyone, but it would help thoes not in the know on whats the best car for certain races, and tracks ect.

If it is so important for noobs to the game series to have this info, then why doesn't PD do it themselves. Or, are they?

Probably because it's not worth their time, they don't get anything from it, besides you can be experienced at GT but still not know much about real cars.

Yeah, I guess that's why they came up with this "Prolouge" game. It was supposed to be a teaching aid for the noobs, and make PD some $.

Was it much of a "teaching" aid?

Not for me, but possibly to a noob, the tests ranged from more basic than seen before to as hard as you've seen before. They were more fun overall though imo.
