the idea is not to dumb it down or anything. Its a game not focusing on the realism of the game, but on getting kids interested in the "pure" of cars and racing, as well as TEACHING them the basics of how a car works and the physics involved.
In other words, PD wants to inform kids of today so that when they become our age they know what the heck they are talking about and aren't just NFSU losers.
Kinda like when you think about the fact that at least 90 percent of all male sports car owners somehow got it into their heads that a 3 foot "wing" somehow makes their car faster?????
