Saw this on the PCars 2 forum (Posted By @SlipZtrEm)


Weird to see it (and F1 2017) in the Simulation category nominations alongside the other titles (Life is Strange?!):

Best Racing Game
Forza Motorsport 7 (Microsoft)
Need for Speed Payback (Electronic Arts)
Project CARS 2 (Bandai Namco)

Best Simulation Game
Ace Combat 7 (Bandai Namco)
F1 2017 (Koch Media)
Farming Simulator: Nintendo Switch (Astragon)
Life Is Strange: Before the Storm (Square Enix)

Interestingly, FM7 won best racing game — but what's even stranger is a certain other game being absent from both lists.

I never read too much in to these sort of awards but it is a bit weird that it just doesn't appear.
 
Not a big deal. What more important is reviews or critics also how people feel and react after the game is released imo. Forza won perhaps it is because far more reachable to general public rather than PC2 that attract certain people with interest in competitive racing. As for NFS, no matter good or bad it is will sell a lot based on what it has established in the past.

Or Sony just doesn't want footage out. It doesn't have to be a lack of confidence in the game. They do strange things but they are going to be supportive of their products. Not sure why.

Not that it would have mattered anyways because aren't these nominations coming from within the event, not outside sources?

I don't know. I was just saying that they said no footage before. So I don't think lack of confidence is a reason.
 
What is the credibity of these nominations anyway? If NFS is on that list , it can't be high.

EDIT: By the way , how the hell is Life Is Strange a simulation game? :lol:

I want disagreeing with your point, more so adding on to it. Mine was that more footage for us to see likely wouldn't do much about it being nominated.

Edit: if two posts above mine is true, than I suppose it could have made a difference.

PC2 won best simulation, something I'm fairly sure will sit well with them.

It's the second game and hasn't been released yet, it's also a nomination not an award.

However more importantly it's also subjective, many, many people loved the first one (not me however).

It's inclusion in the list of nominees however is a bit odd.

Not sure how the shortlist is selected, but the final vote is from an "independent international panel of experts".

Don't think it could get nominated this year as it got nominated last year as a regular game. Maybe if they delayed release date before Gamescom 2016 instead of after, they could get nominated as a preview version instead for that year so could have ran again this year as a regular game.

You should give them a go. Some aren't great, some are good fun. Not all racing games have to be super serial.

The last good NFS game I played was the original MW/HP2. The last NFS game I played though was I think the modern MW and Shift 2, which both sucked.

I agree with that too. Just saying based on my own thoughts why Forza won votes over PC2 probably because it is more reachable and focus to general/casual players, nothing else though.

Well PC1 was/is a buggy **** mess, so maybe there is still that nasty taste in the mouth of media and gamers that PC2 is a bug fix for PC1. With Forza 7 you are guaranteed quality, polish and content.
