Gran Turismo Sport redemption code??

Just picked up GTsport inside the front cover there was a game code and instructions on how to redeem it. It didn't say anything anywhere about what it was for. So I went to ps store to redeem the code. When I put the code in it said it was invalid or failed. Anyone know what the code was for?

Side note how do I save in game? If I go to the main screen does it save automatically? I can't seem to locate any save option. Thanks!
 
Save is on the main screen on the left set of menus, at the bottom of that. The game does save very frequently by itself though.

The code is probably for the deluxe edition or something. Redeeming cars and whatnot.

Ive got one that i was able to download, like it worked. For 1 million dollars and 8 cars. I downloaded them but none of it appeared in my game... you know what i need to do?
 
My son just got the edition with the redemption code. It worked for him. There are quite a few more arcade mode cars available ( not garage cars ) than my basic edition. Can I plug in the redemption code? Will it mess up my game since it's a different console?
