Anyone see a dude wearing a brown tshirt and a Padres cap feel free to greet him

Awesome to meet you at the event! As soon as you posted this I was looking around the audience and noticed you in the row behind me… what an amazing coincidence.

Also thanks Jordan for the quick chat during fan fest with my son and wife… pretty cool to meet so many ppl there at the event!!!

Big Mike’s Honda Prelude, I don’t have a picture on hand.

The Manufacturers' race left a really bad taste in my mouth. How the heck did Toyota not get penalised for shoving Porsche into AMG on lap 16? The Supra seemed to misjudge the front end of the 911 and moved over under braking, destabilising itself and creating a knock on effect that shoved the AMG off the track. Just reeks of favourtism to their official partner. Even the English commentators were like, "really?" in the most polite way possible when no further action was decided on for the incident.

Also... Ferrari strategy strikes again 💀

Just got home. Fun event!!! The crowd elevates it for sure, definitely more fun than watching on a screen on my couch.

The only negative experience I had was standing in line for the sim booth, only to find the line I initially picked was stuck on a showroom demo with a 2 minute Pagani trial at Glen, with all the others having the full car and track selection open. Hopped in the 2nd line, waited another ~45 minutes, got in the seat, got a black screen and the entire rig lost power. Got in a 3rd line, waited another 20-30 mins, got in the seat, whipped out the Celica and put on the TRD body parts in GT Auto, put it on a single lap Nordschleife run, and as the timer started I got kicked off cuz the venue was closing. :banghead:

It was more a silly thing but what a bummer, looked like a fun rig. I’d also be really curious to see what all was in it, it seemed like some of the spec III cars might’ve been available (pretty sure I saw the new fictional historic F1 car getting used?), and the full tuning and GT Auto menu was accessible, so I wonder if there were some unreleased engine swaps available. I also didn’t check to see if the new tracks could be played yet, I was just trying to get on a run ASAP lol.

I also only barely missed out on meeting Kaz, unsurprisingly he got swarmed and he made his way around signing stuff and getting pictures with fans, but I just couldn’t place myself near him at the right time. So no signed GT games for this time.

I also missed the food truck, it looked REALLY good, but I waited till after Nations Cup to try and eat, and by then they sold out of all their entree and just had simple tortillas left.

Otherwise, great collection of cars in the fan fest, great crowd, great presentation (there was loud audible cheers when the Espace appeared on screen in the Yas Marina trailer), and pacing felt really good. It was fun to meet strangers all connected via the same nerdy goofy hobby we all share.

I’d definitely do this again if it’s local enough, and I 100% recommend trying to get to one if it comes to your neck of the woods!
