Had a fantastic first race at Catalunia on the Beetle!
High B lobby in gt2.
Qualified 2nd with a 41.9xx. Decided to start on Mediums to stay away from traffic and trouble and it worked out great. Passed P1 as he lost the rear in the first chikane lap3 and managed to pull away from him steadily. Managed laps of 42.5-42.8 throughout while saving tires and avoiding penalties. View attachment 1532348My only real battle was with a porsche (above) that started p3 and pitted early. I came out of pits right in front of him on lap18 but had no chance of keeping my position with cold hard tires.
P2 finish matched my point score record of 241from last season already 🤗

Shout out to ChanChan and BumpyyJxl for clean racing!
Did I read right, that you scored 241 points from this race in GT2?

According to the announcement page:
For top-tier matchmaking in the GT1 League, an extra 100 points will now be awarded uniformly and added to the Points Ranking.
I wonder if PD is -- accidentally or intentionally -- doing the same for the top split of GT2 and GT3 leagues, too.

Sorry, it must have been 141. And that was my record last season. Would be really weird with 241 in B-lobbies. Don't know if I can double check it before the points are registered tonight.
Nevertheless it is still a very good result and points
Congrats 🥳

I’ll see for myself when I will do the race…
Sadly it won’t be until later today

Good luck everyone.

Dang
241 points in dr B lobby is insane
Last season I was in a mix of A and B and the lobby only went up to around 150…
Did they change the point system?
Maybe but they could've been just lucky/unlucky with their opponents. I raced in a mixed Gr.2 A/B lobby today that went up to 248 pts, 5 of 16 players were DR A and the winner about 15% into rank A who claimed "ez win", they must've demoted from DR A temporarily just to register for the Gr. 2 bracket.

Just did my race, low B rating with 80 points for winner, poor qualifying was 11th but knew I had a lot more pace than that. Started on the M - up to 6th end of 2nd lap, 5th end of 3rd and overtook 4th by the 10th. 3rd place came in for hards at this point, 3.5 secs ahead, but they did not have the benefit of the esteemed Moose's testing... Managed to come out just ahead of the when I came out at lap 18, they tried the hail mary and binned it leaving a easy cruise to 3rd. Put a similar dent into 2nd but they were still 3 seconds ahead, the winner came in lap 17 as well and was 10 ahead.

Some middling results with some middling cars...

The defining event in this race was a lap 1 incident. An Aston Martin ahead of me got some oversteer coming out of T4 and went into the grass. In their attempt to get the car under control, they shot out in front me nearly sideways. I had nowhere to go and plowed into the Aston Martin, sandwiched from behind by a Porsche, launching me and the Aston Martin into the wall like billiard balls.

Damage was flashing all over, including the engine. Needless to say, that sent me and Aston Martin to the back of the pack.

I pitted at the end of that lap for RMs and spent the rest of the race trying to claw my way back up the grid. I managed to make it back to P9, where I started. I cross the line in P9, but one drivers got a 2-minute penalty, presumably for failing to change tires. That promoted me to P8 for 90 points and 0.1% increase to my DR B progress, which brought it to 73.5%.

That's about where I expected to finish with this car, so I'm not going to bother trying again.

This race was more fun. I did the 1RH-17RM strategy. I was trading positions with a Merc, Ferrari, and Beetle for most of the race. I managed to come out of it in P6 for 91 points and 1.9% increase to my DR B progress, now at 71.7%.

I had a player named Moose in my race just now was it you?

EMEA GT3 - 19:00 Q6 P2

This time I decided to try the Peugeot.
The GT3 version for me it is very pleasant to drive because it is really balanced… and I like to drive not common race car.

I decided to downgrade my level to GT3 in order to gain more money at the end of the championship.

Qualified in P6 with 1:43.6 I decided to start with Hard compound as @Moose78 suggested to do 1 lap change to medium and stay on the track alone as much time as possible… it worked almost 100%

I lapped without mistakes and overtook some cars on the track and other when they were changing tires.
At the end I found a Polish driver that stopped my race fighting for his position that at the end I took anyway.
The ugly part is that he was also penalized to have not changed tires…
The first driver also pole man finished 4 seconds ahead and I did the fastest lap of the race… so I could win the race if I wasn’t stopped for so much time in the fight.

However happy of my P2.

Ok quite the Eventful 1st Race!

MANUS CUP RD1 - EMEA GT2 Class - 7pm Race - B lobby - Jag F-Type Gr.3 Racecar - Door No.3 - Tc 2 - BB +5 - 4th Place!

RM 16 laps - RH 2 laps

This race was a good call to realise how I could put the Jags into pace with such "Meta" cars, the Audi and Porsches and try to give 'em a run for their money. Qualifying was good, managed to get a solid 4th place to get going, just the right spot to avoid carnage and push to lead and give chase.

Onto the race and it started well up untll the tight hairpin, where I was punted by a horrible Dutch driver in an colourful R8. The guy then just proceded to flash his lights and ran off, didnt concede his place back to me or feel the need to say sorry, just ran off like a prick to try and stay on top around 2nd place. I was furious but kept my cool and managed to catch up to him after 8 laps of pushing the V8 Jag to the limits, boy this car is thirsty!!! I divebombed a manouver on him and regined 3rd nicely thank you.

Josling for places between 4th and 2nd, was chasing a Porsche GT3R and beating it on the tight corners, I was leading high at 2nd place, on laps 11-14 and then came into the pits for my tyre change to RH tyres and then exited out fast to regain some time and then gave chase to the 3rd place car but lost it and my pace was dwindling a bit. But overall I kept it together to finish a decent 4th place. THe Jag had great pace overall and was a solid machine!!!

That annoying dutch driver just left the lobby straight post race, not suprised to be fair! Bad rivers dont stick around. Onto Round 2, Gr4 shud be intresting at Fuji!!!

Qualified 12th. Finished 11th. Don't really have much to say. Couldn't get near any of the Porsches. Got a penalty for going wide before the penultimate corner. Qualified 1 second off pole, finished 18 seconds off the lead (bit misleading, there was a massive threeway battle). Drove about as well as I could. Can't wait for Sardegna.

So we had this chart with the formulas for the GTWS/FIA since GTS, that was still applied to GT7. Yeah we had the new ceiling, but the principle was the same.

Now, at least at this Exhibition, it seems things have changed. They announced the 100 extra points for the Top Split, but I think the changes go beyond that.

Has anyone identified yet those changes, the new formula and new charts?

For this season i signed with Porsche.

I only had time to do the final EU GT1 slot, and my pace is still lacking. I qualified down in P13.

I started the race on the mediums, since i knew most people towards the back and midfield would start on the hards. During the first 2 laps, i had a good battle with a Ford GT, and then most people went into the pits at the end of lap 1 & 2 to put on the mediums, and that moved me up to P4.

For most of the race i did have a Mazda not too far behind but then towards the end i started pulling away slowly and increased the gap to 5 seconds. I entered the pits at the end of lap 17 to put on the hards, and i came out the pits in P10.

I ended up finishing the race in P9 since the Mazda that was behind me never pitted, so they got given a penalty. Overall the race was non eventful, but i will take the P9 since my pace wasn't the best.

All drB 92 points for the win
Q:2 door:1

Went for the 3h-15m and it was the right call for me. Lost a place on lap 2 but didn’t really care that much since I expected them to be on medium.
Pitted on lap 3 for a fresh set of mediums and got I a bit of clean air down in p13 (3 sec to the car in front).
Minded my pace and got clean overtakes.

Also some where taking a trip to the cat box has I like to call it…

Also managed a very cool switchback overtake in the air pin against a grello Porsche:

The leader pitted on lap 16 for the hards and came out .5 sec behind me. But since he was on cold tires I could keep up in the first couple turns and I built a decent 2 sec gap. I then crossed the line in p1 for a ok 92 points.

Overall very good race and only my second ever manufacturer cup race win.

Special thanks to @Moose78 for the strategy analysis. (Not everyone in my race had a has good race strategist 😉)

My focus shift to Fiji has I hope to build on this result and I’ll see you in the next race.

Cheers guys

Q: P11 (1:41.9xx) Finished: P10 (160 pts)

So I had signed with Nissan, but ended up driving for Renault (AGAIN) on my alt account.

Not a great race from my POV. I did the same strat as most people, 1 RH 17RM. Porsches galore in this race (as I expected). Qualifying infront of any Porsche driver was an achievement in itself.

Had a fairly uneventful race until about lap 14 when a guy in a Ford GT divebomed me into the left hand hairpin after the penalty gates. Tbf he gave me the place back, but it lost me at least 3 sec to the guys infront, as I was catching them.

I think @GT5Apex was also in this race and as he described, P1 never pitted so I was promoted from P11 to P10.

After having reconstructive surgery on my bladder on only Tuesday of last week, I was in pain for the last part of the race. As anything where I have to engage my core for long periods is excruciating.

Overall, pretty happy with the 160 pts and another week to recover before we head to Fuji in the GR4's. GT7 is a great escape from life's obstacles. Which is why I'm still competiting even though long taces are a bit painful.

Side note: 40% of the drivers in the top 100 are in Porsches. Is that some kind of record?

Good luck in round 2 legends!

Maybe Moose was right about PD adding 100pts to "top split" GT2... My race also had a few A-drivers.
From what I can tell it seems very likely that they did this…
If you look at your regionals standings you will see that all top of gt2 are in the 200s which was impossible last season.
I hope that my dr being promoted to dr A mean I will get in higher points lobby cause only 92 for a win last race won’t get me far in the standings…

If you were hoping for any strategy this week, prepare to be disappointed. It looks like a straight ahead sprint in sunny weather. I've done two 10-lap sessions in Free Practice -- mostly to figure out which of the two Gr.4 Alfas to use -- and the cloud pattern didn't even move.

I haven't tried any Custom Races for practice yet, but I assume from the 1x multipliers that there won't be any need to pit.

FWIW, of the two Alfas, I'm finding I'm faster and more consistent in the 155 than the 4C, so I'll probably go with that. I still need to do some tests in Custom Races with the multipliers enabled, though. Maybe those will turn the tables. We'll see.

Not the best start to my GT3 season but it could have been worse. I am a high DRC and chose Citroën, always wanted to try the GTs as they drive very well. Cockpit visibility is atrocious though which almost lead me to change views. Almost.

I qualified Q14 (yuck). Excuses excuses but on my second and third hot laps the drivers behind me were extremely rude and bumped me off twice, effectively ruining any chance of improving. I tried to let a few go around but ultimately I guess I was slow for their liking.

The race was actually going extremely well but proved to be a mirage. I moved up the ranks consistently getting as high as P9-P8 after a few folks went off and passed at least two cars on pace. Inexplicably many cars pitted between laps 12-14 which had me as high as P3.

Alas, it was not to be. When I pitted at the end of 16 for RH, I came out P11 about 1 second behind P10. I came close to getting to pass my opponent in front but couldn’t hold pace enough on the hards. Finished P11.

Round one I asked ai what it thought for tire strategy and it literally told me to wait for moose to post 😊 it knew from last season.

I checked again now and it was indeed 241 pts for my gt2 league 2nd place finish. It's surely a mistake by PD giving 100 extra right? I understand giving 100 extra points to top split in gt1 to make sure the best of the best qualify, avoiding manipulation of DR to race in 2nd or 3rd split for better result and more points. But for amateurs in gt2 like me I can't see it mattering much if I race the top 16 of B rank or 32-48. It's such a massive points gain for a negligible difference in skill...

As for next round, I did some TT to get used to the Scirocco even though I can't race this weekend. Was expecting the FF car to be horrible at Fuji but it feels surprisingly good. Very quick and stable out of the tight corners and the fast long right-hander can be coasted fairly well. I am about as far behind the aliens as I usually am.
It seems like it could be a fun sprint. Good luck to all!

I didn’t get before that you had a such relevant surgery…
First of all I wish you to recover soon and get healthy again.
Sometimes I think that GT7 is a nice way to get out from the small issue of the life but for you will be “something more” than that…
Wish you all the best and happy to read your next race results!
