I didn’t get before that you had a such relevant surgery…
First of all I wish you to recover soon and get healthy again.
Sometimes I think that GT7 is a nice way to get out from the small issue of the life but for you will be “something more” than that…
Wish you all the best and happy to read your next race results!
Thanks bro, I appreciate the kind words. My theory about struggles like this is, there is always someone going through something much worse. Each day I'm getting stronger. And as you rightly say. Playing GT is a great way to escape issues. (Big or small). Good luck to you also!

Been doing some practice in the Clubman on Fuji. I like many others find Fuji a bit of a nightmare especially the fearsome final corner. I've never managed to consistently establish the line there, and it feels like a good run out of it is more down to chance than anything else. Lapping quite consistently 1:46.9-1:47.0 laps on the hard so have to hope that's enough pace!

So, is it confirmed no rain and just 10 laps in hard and full stop ?
It is a pity... rain means a sort of strategy or risk to manage...
We can't know for sure until race day, but all the signs are pointing to there being no rain. There is no rain if you do 10 laps in Free Practice, and as @Famine pointed out, rain in this race would give a huge advantage to all the 4WD cars.

Seeing as we have 7 days between rounds. 20 laps with at least a tyre strategy would have been very interesting. Alas, all we have to snack on, is a 17 minute sprint race.

At least it is only the one sprint round this time. Everything else looks like it will involve a pit stop.

Although the next round is a little weird. Two allowed compounds, but neither required, and no mandatory stops. I'm wondering if that might get the hidden 'required tire type change' rule.

Yeah, saw that and didn't know what to make of it? All will be revealed I guess!

I personally feel like the next round at dragon trail will be a copy of the one in the qualifiers earlier this year:

Rain at the start (your choice of either wets or inters) and then you choose to go between the medium or the soft depending on the rain tire you choosed
(W-M) or (I-S) or even what I did last time (I-M) has the soft doesn’t last very long…

I also feel like a dry sprint race on RH for the GR4 is probably one of the most equal scenario you can get in that category because of the different cars drivetrains. Some simply eat their front tires (FF), others are the meta in the rain(4WD)…

I think you are on to something there. I had to go back and check the settings for that race. It was also 20 laps, with 5x tire wear and 1x fuel consumption. I hope you are right. I like rain races.

I’m going into tomorrow’s race probably the less prepared I have ever been (last race was 60+ practice laps and this one -15) so we will see how this goes…
Fun fact I think it will be my first time racing the “short” layout of Fiji.
Looking forward to racing you guys this weekend.
Good luck to everyone!

What a poor race. It didn't help that a Frenchman with 1 bar was making the lobby jump around from time too time which obviously effected the race and caused it to be a door banging affair. I wish I had never bothered!
I like Fuji so was hoping for something half decent despite my lack of straight line.
Qualified P7 so a good base. Pretty much everyone from 4th to 13th was around half a second of each other. I needed 5th to better my points.

Got a run on the Porsche ahead but stayed behind through T1 as I wasn't close enough.
However much the pack gained across the lap came back to me through the final sector. They all slowed into Panasonic and I went up the inside and got them all. The Ferrari at the head swang back into me which put me wide out of the corner and yes I got a pen despite the contact. Plenty of others would run wide there both with and without contact and get no pen. Thanks PD!
However I am in 4th and most of those behind are fighting. It could still play into my hands. The Ferrari gets me into Coca Cola but that is all before my pen which drops me to 10th. Time to knuckle down. 2 Genesis (Genesai?) are fighting very hard. Shoving and the like. I have a ringside seat but nothing major happens and the standard livery wins and moves ahead. It's my turn on the other one and he defends well and is not dirty with me. However during this time a Supra joins in and when the lobby bounce shoves me to the inside at Advan they hit me on exit putting me into a slide.

I can only think the Genesis took umbridge on my behalf as they nudged the Supra off at Dunlop and this put me back behind them into Netz which I accidentally tap them. But seeing as it is also Karma I decided to carry on.
The next few laps are pretty hard fought and we all bunch up. One lap going into Dunlop the Supra is right behind me. Bang I go spinning off after contact. Straight away I blame the Supra but I am too far away to do anything other than finish P12 for a very bad result.
A perfect lesson in not blaming an innocent party until after you see the replay. It wasn't the Supra. It was the lobby bouncing a Porsche into me which nudged me onto the grass. And as we know grass and braking do not mix!

So if the Danish driver of the Supra is here. I wholeheartedly apologise.

In my main a/c (UnlikeUday), I've chosen AMG as the manu (as opposed to Audi which I had joined previously). I qualified in 10th with a time of 1:45:430 & finished in 9th. I was expecting to struggle with the AMG but wish there was a strategy at play here instead of just driving 10 laps on RH. Anyway, it was decent. I'm usually in the upper B - lower A DR range of players with this a/c.

I had created a secondary a/c as I was losing interest in dailies & the game in general. Thought lets start from scratch. So after 2 weeks, I climbed onto mid C in DR. With this a/c, I chose Peugeot as I love the RCZ Gr.3 car.

I performed better in my manu race at Fuji. I wasn't expecting the RCZ Gr.4 car to be any good as I've hardly seen people use this car even in daily races. To my surprise, I found this car fun, fast & stable even though it's FF.

I managed to grab pole position which I wasn't expecting. I kept my driving clean & was able to win the race. I'll say the RCZ felt more soothing than the SLS AMG. Even though I won the race, I earned just 37 points but that's alright.

Was in the same race as @Uday9479, but did not cover myself in glory, think I had Q10, had one too many other drivers run me wide and bump me and then take advantage (definitely not @Uday9479 though - they were far ahead of me at this point) and I'm disappointed to say I started to see the red mist and deal a bit of vengeance. This pretty much ruined my race and I finished very near the back.

Went again and qualifying was not great, only timed lap I could get in involved a 0.5 penalty so ended up Q11. Race went a lot better, lots of mistakes ahead got me into 5th where then had some very close racing with 2 other Porsches ahead. Managed to get a good run out of the last corner to take 4th, then on lap 9 did the same move to get 3rd, but overcooked T1 and back to 4th where I finished but quite happy with that after the 1st race disaster.

As most of the top rated A+ drivers always suggest either for daily races or manu ones, it's critical to qualify well to avoid the mid grid mayhem especially on lap 1. I've experienced this so many a times as well. Am glad Your 2nd race went well. Irrespective of daily race or manu event race, I always aim for a top 5 finish. If a driver behind me is faster & is about to make a move on me for the lead (assuming I'm leading), I won't block him because I always prefer looking at the bigger picture. Plus, we all are here to race with good experience so don't want to ruin it for anyone especially if he's faster than me.

I put up the screenshot of the win mainly because the RCZ Gr.4 car was a real surprise. I wonder why the car gets overlooked so much. Just wanted to highlight the car more than my victory was just worth 37 points. would've put up a screenshot if I've would've finished 5th even.

Oh well you can’t win em all…

Gt2 class
DrA/B SRS, 256 points for the win
Q4 Door 7

The cayman is simply horrible off the line because the speed is at 60kph but the shift is around 63kph so it hit the red line very quickly and you lose time on the straight. I lost a place to a mustang at the start due to that and it went away with the leaders.
Still a very good race and people were racing aggressively but clean, they didn’t think twice before overtaking you but they kept it on the track and it was very enjoyable. A real challenge for me.

We where even 3 wide a couple times…

Still the lack of practice didn’t help and I slowly tumbled down the order. In the end I crossed the line in p11 which give me a very healthy 188 points (more than double what I had for a win last time).

Hoping for a good wet race next week and I’ll see you then.
Cheers

Race 1 - GT2 - Americas - 11AM EDT - Chevrolet Corvette C7 Gr.4 - 125 points available - Door #12 - Q8 (1:45.511)
gtws-mc-rd2-78.webp

A less than stellar qualifying had me battling in the middle of the pack for the whole race. I managed to work my way up to P5 at one point, but some mistakes on my part and aggressive overtakes on the part of my opponents sent me falling back into the fray. I finished in P7 for 94 points and a 1.3% boost to my DR B progress, taking it to 74.8%. Good enough, I guess.

Race 2 - GT2 - Americas - 12PM EDT - Alfa Romeo 155 2.5 V6 TI '93 - 126 points available - Door #13 - Q2 (1:44.856)

This race was a much more civilized affair. A great (for me) qualifying session had me starting in P2. The AMG on pole was way faster than me. They just took off into the distance. The cars behind me were battling, which gave me a comfortable buffer to drive laps.

Eventually a Porsche emerged from the pack behind and started gaining on me. They caught and overtook me on the main straight at the start of lap 6, sending me to P3. The rest of the pack was 5 seconds behind.

The rest of the race was just driving out laps. I finished in P3 for 116 and a 4.6% increase to my DR B progress, taking it to 76.3%. That was a much better result than I was expecting. If only it were top split...
So Gt2 top split gets the +100 points as well? I was very high B-split (jumped to A after the race) and winner got about 140 points
Yep, but if your race only had 140 points available, I'm guessing it wasn't top split. The top-split GT2 races tend to be in the mid-200s from what I've seen.

Q3, 0.015 to pole and with a Porsche behind me who spun out on the first lap last week but finished ahead of me, so I knew he was quick. I was pretty isolated in 3rd until lap 7 when he caught me and got past in the run up to the chicane. I shifted early to give him a bit of clearance so he could get a good run through that corner since he'd been better than me there on every lap. Naturally he made an arse of it and by lap 8 there was a train

Turn 1 on lap 9 was three wide but I managed to get out of it ahead of the rest. By this point there was really a train

But the GT-R's superior 4WD traction (c/o Famine) pays off in the final sector so I got on to the straight with a lead, out of t1 with a lead and I kept 3rd until the end for 179 points:

Bit of a pointless race, oddly stressful, and I got carried by the car. Payback for everything it's put me through over the years.

Yes, I meant to quote BGreemFace who had 256 points on the line.

I don't really like the added points.

I just did two top split races. The first one went quite bad due to issues at the start with the VR. I got about 170 points for p9.

I was really hesitant to go again, because if I didn't make top split, that would have been a guaranteed point loss even for the win.

Luckily I made top split again. Qualified P2 with a 44,5.
Got overtaken into T2, and then was in quite a rough battle for p2-p5.
One guy spun exit of T1 and one guy tried to defend the inside when I was already alongside and spun himself over my nose.
Was able to retake P2 on the last lap with a better run out of the last corner.
Got about 250 points so a good ending for round 2

GT2 - EMEA LOBBY - 7PM + 8PM slots - JAG F-type Gr.4 - Fuji short track - TC 1 - BB -2 - Door no.14 - 7th place finish!

1st race was going so well, and in 8th place pushign up, then had a british wanker of a driver in the mustang goes and brake checked me on the straight and spoiled my last few laps of the race. Made me lost a whole second in the race. The Penalty system clearly didnt see that did it, so bloody great!! Left that race dissapointed.

Race 2 was better once as I changed my livery which obv added 2secs to my pace lol. Not the best of races but a good decent finish at 7th place for Round 2!!! I was driving better and less incidents, Back to GT3 cars next race so lets go!!!

Had a great race today with fair drivers in the top 6 but apparently behind it was a little messy. Qualified 4th and finished 4th in a DR-B SR-S lobby. Best ever finish in this lobby so well happy.

EMEA GT3 - Q2 P1

I did half an hour of training and watched some replays of top drivers even if they were on different cars but still to get an idea about breaking and trajectory.

Qualified in P2 with 1:45.3 and the pole man was 1:44.8
Clean start and at T1 none was dive bombing or at least I was far from that.
The race was quite stable, following the pole man at around 1,5 sec not loosing not gaining.
The followers were around 3 seconds far from me… so just repeating my lap times as a machine.
I didn’t several laps at 1:45.8, consistently.

At begging of lap 9 I didn’t understand how the pole man did a mistake at T1 and going slightly too wide got 0,5 sec penalty.
However I think he got nervous and at T6 I overtook.
On the main straight he slowed for the penalty and I started th last lap with around 2 seconds of gap that I almost kept to the end.

P1 and fastest lap. What else?
