The penalties were so odd, I was pushed wide once in the final corner and got 0.5secs, whereas a driver in front ran wide literally about 10 times at various corners and never got one
If you slow down enough during/after you've gone off you can avoid the penalty sometimes - very handy for tracks like Fuji where the penalty line is at the start of such a long straight

Did a quick test for next round and it seems to be the exact same as in the qualifiers earlier this years
Rain for laps 1-3
Rain stop laps 4-5
Rain resume laps 5-10
Rain stop for good laps 10-11
Drying for the remaining laps with pit windows for slicks around lap 15

Edit: found my message from the qualifier round with my analysis. Should still be viable…

Did a test run in free practice and here are my thoughts
Laps 1-2 rain high for inters
Laps 3-5 pause drying a little
Laps 6-9 rain resumed
Laps 10-20 rain stopped and drying conditions
Laps 16-20 only then for slicks

Now of course being 16 cars on the grid the track will dry faster so I don’t think the inters no stop will be viable. Also since there is a dry patch at the start the wets will have a hard time getting to the slick unless you are some kind of wizard/tire whisperer. If you do start on wets to have the edge during the heavier rain you will likely need to change for RM to get to the end.
The best strategy I think will be to start on Inters and try to hold on and then change to soft when the track is very much dry. Just make sure you can get to the end on this compound…

I recall the optimum strategy being IM then RM, switching to slicks at lap 11 or 12.
Those who started on wets or switched to RS needed to 2 stop.
The 2nd band of rain was only light.

This is exactly what I did last time. (Inters lap 1-11 and RM laps 12-20) The delta between RS and RM is not that bad and the 5x tire multiplier is hard on the RS. I ended up even catching the guys that were in front of me (they where on RS and I was on RM) and even getting the fastest lap…

Now of course I’m driving a different car (GT3 R vs RSR) and I don’t know yet how long you could last on the RS, if I can get the inters to the end of lap 12 and last 8 laps on the soft it could be a different option.
I will do a tire wear test later this week and compare it with @Moose78 data.
I’ll keep you updated.

This is what I did:

Dragon Trail Gardens R2 Summary (Subaru BRZ GT300 ’21)
Final Result
• Started P16 (dead last quali)
• Finished P7
• Wet start → IM held off-line (Calster line) through the blue rain L6-10.
• FR tire conserved with 80% throttle in T1 and quad-right.
• L11 RM pit → undercut the traffic cluster.
• Dry stint L11-20: +5 rear BB

Strategy That Worked
• 1-stop IM → RM at L11
• MOMO 320
• BB -1 wet (front stability) → +5 dry
• TCS 2→1 during wet
• Hang-wide chaos management L1-9 turned packs into free positions.
Key Takeaways
• IM survived the scripted slam off-line — no need for early W pit.
• RM was the right call for L11-20 (safer than RS drop-off).
• FR tire in T1/quad-right remains the limiter — 80% throttle rule paid off.

I will do a tire wear test later this week and compare it with @Moose78 data.
I don't know if I'll bother this week since this is a repeat of the one in January. You can find my test results from that round here.

In both of my races in January, I did a 10IM-10RM strategy. That seemed to work out pretty well, so I'll probably go for something similar this time around. Maybe 11IM-9RM.

The RS tires burn out pretty fast with the 5x multiplier. I could only get them to last 6-8 laps in sunny weather (which, I know, doesn't match what we'll get at the end of the actual race). Using those would probably mean waiting to pit until lap 12, and struggling with worn tires at the end. And I wasn't seen a huge benefit to running the RS tires over the RMs, so there really wasn't much of an upside to using them.

One thing to remember, though, is that -- assuming this race is following the January one -- qualifying is on a dry track. That's where the RSs should come in useful.

This season sucks tbh

They managed to get some of the most boring races, & spread them out over 6 weeks.

Id rather have tournaments be an almost permanent fixture with 10-20 races again like they were in GT Sport, except remove all the top end eSports events from it,because they're a waste of time & nobody cares about them apart from 0.01% of the player base.

My results in after 2 rounds of cup races, not bad so far, need to try and bump up Jaguars rankings even though we may be in the minority lol!! Happy bank holiday to my Uk folks!

Saturday was a lot of fun. The only problem is I kept bottling my quali for some reason. Most practice races I was managing 44:3xx on average but I just couldn't hook up a lap together on the day.

Slot 2 was my best attempt
GT1 League/ 254 pt lobby
Q: 144.917
Starting: 14th
Finished: P7 190pts

My race pace was as good as the leaders. So I managed to slowly cut.my way through the field with some aggressive but fair driving.

10 laps at Fuji is basically a sprint race and because all the GR4 cars are so close in terms of speed, it's really hard to get away from drivers around you, unless they get penalties or make mistakes

The Megane (MR) was much better later on in the race, due to the even tyre wear. Considering I started P14, I was very happy to finish in the top half of the grid, in such a short space of time. Onto round 3, which is basically a rerun of the race we had at DT Gardens before. I expect to do as bad as I did last time!

If anyone wants to see me battle from the back of the grid, here is the replay. Have a great day fellas!

I love the idea where we need to run plenty of laps in practice (DT Gardens) in order to get a dry track that progresses from mild rain - no rain - heavy rain - mild rain - no rain! Yeah this is scripted weather so everyone faces the same weather conditions but it's brilliant in its own right so we can accustom ourselves to the fullest for the race come Saturday.

Even though this weather script + track is exactly the same, love the challenge of it where patience & composure are needed. Just ran 20+ laps through my secondary a/c where I'm using a RCZ. Am excited to try the AMG GT3 '20 car with my main a/c now.

I wish Polyphony would introduce some sort of restriction or automated slotting for people depending on where they finish in tournaments in the lower GT levels.

GT2 & 3 leagues could really use something like a "if you finish top 25, you automatically get locked into the next league up, for the next tournament"

There's got to be a way to prevent these absolute losers that purposely de-rank, so they can demolish lower level competition & get their little ego boost for finishing 1st against a lower league.

Some of these people are a disgrace, top 250 drivers purposely de-ranking & then obviously winning every race in a GT2 league.

Are You talking about A+ rated drivers? Do they really do this? They make secondary accounts for streaming to display last to first kind of races. But when even they are D or C, they don't ram into drivers even if they get rammed into.

This could be my opinion but the absolute top rated driver couldn't possibly have egos. Any driver with ego will have zero patience or respect or driving etiquette & then it's close to impossible to reach A+.

Nonetheless, I understand the frustration where we have disguised drivers.

Both quali and the race were identical to last time. RS for dry quali. Start the race on IM and pit for RM after lap 11. I started 9th in Subaru BRZ and finished 3rd. The wet tyres don’t seem to last 10 laps. I was 7th after lap 8, after that I was catching and passing those on wets.

GT2 EMEA 1st Slot High B Lobby 183 points up for grabs

Wasn't sure what to expect from myself for this race, in all the practice lobby races I really struggled when the track starts to dry, either braking way too late or too early for the slow corners.

Remembered to do some dry laps for qualifying practice but didn't do much good, couldn't put a clean lap together and Q8 with a 1.32.8XX.

Race start and 2 people ahead (including pole!) forgot to switch tyres and span out instantly. Went for a very calm, tyre saving race, losing a few spaces, then gaining a few from others mistakes. Got myself up to 5th past some people on Wets during the first drying stint, then the 3 cars ahead were in a pitched battle allowing me to gain on them but also whilst keeping the tyres cool and not pushing that hard.

1 of the 3 is on W so starts dropping back as the track dries and I manage to get past another so up to 3rd by lap 11. Tyres are doing ok so stick it out for another lap......and then another as I thought the dry line should be a bit wider by then, and I can also switch to S.

Come out of pits in 3rd about 8 seconds behind the lead. Start making slow progress on P1 and P2, not as much as I thought the S would give me, but catch up and pass P2 to bring it home 4s behind P1 for 179 points! Very happy with that so calling it done!

IMs had about 5% left on FR on lap 13 and RS had about 25% left on FR with cooling them in the wet any chance I could get.

Good luck all!

A brilliant race!
The softs go off so quickly in qualy I only managed a P14 which was my first timed lap.
Pop on the inters for the race start and hope some people ahead forget.
Everyone makes it through T1 o.k. but there is a slow car going wide into the chicane. P2 was off. He later came on the chat and said he didn't have wet tyres. Even stranger is that he started on softs on a x5 multiplier. :dunce:
I get alongside the Lambo ahead along the back strait but he holds the inside into the hairpin which allows the Ford behind to give me a slight nudge allowing them past. Everyone on wets is safely through the first lap. Lap 2 and the Ford and a FT-1 were battling and we practically made it 3 wide heading into Istanbul where myself and the Ford went side by side successfully. Having to be more cautious on the inside meant they had the better run and stayed ahead.
0158b47b1a3a393220ea77c50a8257d2_photo.webp

However their wider line through the last 2 corners allowed me alongside down the main straight and their attempt to out brake me on the outside of T1 went as you would expect. Through the chicane I did not expect the Lambo to slow as it did and a slight nudge sent them round.
I was starting to catch the pack ahead and next was an Audi who had just served a penalty. They gave me the position by going wide in the last corner. Lap 5 and a Supra wobbled out of the chicane allowing me past. But through the mid sector whilst I got by a Ferrari drifting wide I was wide at the next turn which allowed the Ferrari, the Audi and the Supra back past. However the Supra didn't quite get wholly past but decided to nudge the rear of my car and spin me round at the first apex of Istanbul. This at least caused them to go wide too. I got back on but was now behind the Lambo back in 12th.
Even worse I went wide in T1 the next lap but it barely cost me. Thankfully!
Even though the rain was back a Porsche stopped off the wets. I guess they were devoured by the dry spell. Next lap a Ferrari did the same.
I had caught back up to the Lambo, Ford and Supra who were battling. We all passed a spun Porsche at the hairpin. After the race they tried to blame someone. However they lost it under braking whilst being overtaken. Their own fault and more unlucky to land facing the barrier meaning a slow rejoin.
Lap 10 and I got a good run on the Lambo down the start/ finish straight. I think they eased off to let me past as I appeared to be faster. :sly: The Ford then wobbled out of the hairpin allowing me past into the next slight corner.
By this point we were all starting to find the wet patches and I decided to pit this lap. We had caught up to P5 and everyone from them went in except 2 cars. So I was out in 9th in the same train as I went in on. However the Supra misjudge their braking into the hairpin and hit the Porsche in front. They waited for them to recover so I got 2 free places. Those out in front decided not to gamble and stay out for too long. Across the next 3 laps they decided to come in. In the next 5 laps I set the fastest lap on 3 occasions. I was certainly the fastest medium runner. I was now P4 and very close to the top 3 as they were all in sight.
Thankfully the Porsche in P3 decided to use the kerbs into the penultimate corner to brake on and span heavily into the barrier. Up to P3 and chasing the top 2.

And that is where I stayed. A fine finish considering where I started and I was taken out mid race. Without that incident I may have got the win.
Good luck to all yet to race.

Just did my race, low GT2 lobby, door 8.

So much traffic qualifying came 5th. Most started on the wet and I could hang with them, a couple span off. After Lap 3 started to make the inters count, pulled into 2nd and the leader span. Slowly built up a gap of about 5 secs to 2nd, came into the pits end of lap 11.

2nd stayed out and I had closed to gap to 5 secs by lap 13, I thought he was going to switch to softs, he went IM again 💀

After that was in no danger at all and cruised to a 19 second win in 33:33. Only 60 points in the bag though!

So what isit best to start with. Inters or Wets?
Yes inters 100%. Just go easy on lap 1 and 2, which you'll rarely be full pace due to carnage anyway. I put TC 1 on which I never do. There is also a slippy spot on lap 6 for about a lap and a half before the rain goes for good but the IM will be warm then and its not as bad as earlier in the race. W wear out too soon and you'll either have to put on hards or have dead mediums.

So what isit best to start with. Inters or Wets?
As other lovely folks said Inters is the right choice. Wets would be advisable on either a car that's quite unstable in the wet or if the user is quite adept in wet conditions to build a gap to others to make another pitstop for inters or mediums depending on when the pit stop is made.

What I realized the weather pattern is a little different to the TT session. During the TT, the tyre wear is lesser + a dry line good enough for RM/RS appears around lap 14. In the race, the tyre wear is more severe (due to fuel weight) as by lap 12 my front right tyre was as good as gone. With so many laps left then it made sense for me to switch to RM instead of RS.

Nonetheless, quite fun of a race this. Dynamic weather really adds element of fun & surprise. We really need dynamic weather in daily races even if it had to be scripted to maintain fairness amongst all ranked players.

What a great race with the dynamic weather today playing its part. Like the majority started on IM and then flicked to RM on lap 12, probably could have have done lap 11 but had managed to get to 2nd from 5th and had some breathing room so became ultra cautious 🫣.
RM worked a treat from there on in and finished ✅ 2nd without any heart stopping spins or crashes.
Over the moon 🌒 with this result.
Best of luck to all who have yet to race 🥳🤠

Umm, no.

Some do (and are absolute ragers), some don't; they're just people like the rest of us. In traditional motorsport, it's more common to find egos that border on sociopathy, especially as you go higher up as the mindset required to be the best often means believing it too.

Below the very top, GTWS-attendee level you don't have to look far to find A+ streamers who are on the borderline of narcissistic personal disorder - they think they're the greatest and nothing's their fault, and when they don't qualify for GTWS it's the system and they didn't want to anyway because streambucks are better. It's by no means them all (that'd be as silly a notion), or even the majority, but you don't have to look hard.

Anyway, had a bit of time, accidentally logged into a test account I've been trying to level up to check on various unlocks, and won by 33s in a GT3/DR C lobby. 11IM/9RM seemed to be the way.

Took my AMG GT3 '20 & headed to the manu race at DT Gardens.

I qualified in a decent 6th place.

Started on IM as all of the rest. On Lap 2, I got gently nudged by a car behind me after the tight hairpin at the start of S2. I was second last but I didn't lose my cool knowing this is a long & wet race. I kept moving up slowly mainly because of others fighting amongst themselves or spinning. By the time it was end of lap 11, my front right tyre was almost shot & I was in top 10 I think.

Switched to RM as being a controller player, I'm no good with tyre wear so RM was a safe bet compared to RS. Slowly but surely kept progressing. Even though there was a dry racing line, the outsides of it on either side were still treacherous enough to ruin the race. I was a little cautious wanting to be within the dry racing line & just focussed on my race.

Somehow, I finished in P5 despite slipping to P15 on lap 2. I was happy with the recovery.

I commended the driver after the race who finished in P2 as he had qualified last. I believe he didn't make a pitstop & somehow carried on IM which is tough but not impossible. For me, his drive was the drive of the race, even better than the one who won the race.
20260509_151929.webp

In my secondary a/c where I've chosen Puegeot, I managed to qualify first & finish in 1st even though I got a mere 38 points. I must say the RCZ was more fun to drive because of the MR stability when compared to the AMG. The RCZ was more exciting in the wet whereas the AMG was great in the last few drying laps.

I'm saying top 250 ISH drivers, as I regularly see these guys in the top 50 in qualifying leaderboards, & I've seen them in top 200 final results or GT1 league on their mains.

There's at least 5 right now that are in GT2 league smoking B drivers, I won't name names because I don't know the rules around name & shame.

The point is it's a joke honestly. They use the excuse of "oh but GT2 has more slots"

Well guess what buddy, GT1 is supposedly for the best, those fewer slots are a bigger deal & probably demand more of you.

It's basically guys that aren't good enough to be top 20 & really get their name up there, so they drop to B rank a few days/weeks before refund 1, enter the tournament & then they go rank up again aggressively so they can inflate the maximum points total on offer whenever they specifically enter a time slot.

Very cool race this one…

All DRA/SRS
Q2 door 15
262 points for the win

When I saw that this was all drA and I was door 15 I was expecting to be dead last but surprisingly I managed a good lap that puts me in p2.

I had in my lobby a fellow French Canadian (camel_qc_vr2) also driving for Porsche who was also I my last race. I knew I was a clean driver but very quick too.

The race started well, with a few people on wets and others on inters. I went for an inters-medium. The leader, a verstapen AMG was on the wets and started pulling away (he also did a very impressive qualifying lap a full 1.4 sec faster then me). He spun at turn 4 allowing me and a Ferrari whom had overtaken me in the wets to get by.
I then overtook him in turn one when the rain slowed down.
20969964238200116.webp

I decided to pit on lap 12 to give me a chance and I was also 4 sec ahead of p2.
When we came out that gap grew to 5.5 which I then needed when I went wide.
20970287968800198.webp

The gap had been reduced and camel in p2 was right behind me. The AMG in p3 was catching very quickly (the one that started on pole). The AMG managed to get by both of us but when wide in turn 1 allowing me to take the lead once more.
20970840077863691.webp

He then settled in p2 but gave everything he had and we had a very cool fight on the last lap. He overtook me in turn 1 and defended turn 2 but I had a better drive trough the 2-4 complex allowing me to have a run down the airpin. He defended but I decided to try an outside move. I almost made it stick but with the still slightly wet curb he had the better run. I tried everything I had but couldn’t fin a way by and we finished a very close 0.218 sec at the end.
20970513738544731.webp

20970301166751372.webp

This was one of my favourite race and we had a very clean race. Slightly disappointed that I went off cause it probably costed me the win but p2 is nothing to be ashamed of.
Now I gotta start practicing for sardegna cause it not my best track at all but we will see how it goes.

I brought home a very good 256 points.

Good luck to everyone still to race.
