Hey bro, your race sounded very eventful and full of drama. All we can do is to try our best and drive clean. Hopefully a better result will come for you in the next round..I always say, if I can finish in the top 8, then I am happy. Well done bro, don't be so hard on yourself!EMEA GT2 - Q9 P7 - Another "meh" race... (Reanult RS 01)
The pole was 8:19.xxx and my personal is 8:13... but I qualy 26 sec slower... too many thought in my mind...
I decided to start with Soft (2 laps) and then Medium (3 laps).
The main reason is that with soft I am not so faster than medium, when those are already at 80% I am doing mistakes, I want to be "faster" with the full tank (to compensate that), while when I will have less fuel I will have a "worse" compund. The two things crossed should balance my performance.
The overall idea was right, and at T1 some one "gently" touched me, I touched someone else, no penalty for me, I went out from T1 in P4...
Everything is going well, but too much focused watching the 2-3 cars in front of me in full rage version... and being distracted by that I missed a breaking point... what a genius... spin... 720 degres... back in P14... GREAT JOB!
Changed tires, no fuel, back on track carefully because medium are cold and will not warm immediately.
I am lapping faster than the soft ( I don't know why) and along the track I see yellow flag but I am not overtaking anyone but after a few seconds I see on the left of my screen some "yellow writings"... some people are leaving... (maybe those of yellow flag).
Starting Lap 4 some cars are entering in the box and I overtook all of them (their third lap with soft was slower than my first on medium).
I am travelling alone, not reaching neither reached by anyone... till the end of lap 5...
A driver on Mclaren is faster than me, it is reaching me... "I will drive clean and if needed I will let him go"...
He is pushing and we are very close to the final straight... but a few km before, the super fast esses, he decided to pass me... I moved to left to give him space... he touched me sending me on the grass... I control the car and I go straight... but he went on the grass too on the other side and spin... crossing my lane... I brake to avoid him and he crashed on the rails...
...he just should wait for the final straight to pass me very easily... your car is faster than mine...
So my P7 is saved... but as many times my mind goes to the stupid mistake done in lap1... and in any race I do something really stupid that change the full story...
See you under the rain in SPA... and let see whatelse of stupid I will do there...
Ps.
@dazdilly75 is a pleasure to see you make this car shine on the track... I am compensating on the other side...

Nurb was the only race that I cared of this season.
Tonight I only had time for slot 2 and this happened to me.
All these days of practice and planing strategies to the garbage. I would love to break some glasses or something 😄
D'oh, leading the race with 1 proper corner to go and I did this 🤦♂️
I knew I had to push to keep out the slipstream range and took too much on the inside and launched it on the kerb.
The race setup is identical to the last exhibition round including tyres, wear rates and minimum pitstops required. Unless there is dark blue in the top bar of the surface water gauge I would stick to IMs. Perhaps a notch or 2 of TCS might help if you are spinning out? And remember to avoid racing line and curbs when braking and accelerating, if possible.Geez, is rain the only kind of weather that appears in Spa lately? Even in the last exhibition round featuring the track it rains!

Based on the radar alone, it seems like the rain would be here to stay the moment it arrives.

And judging from the free practice setup it would come around lap six for the rain to take full effect. Already thinking of pitting in after Lap 5. Given that one pit stop is needed for the race, and that an entire duration of the pit + tire change taking more than 30 seconds, it might as well be the only pit stop that counts in the entire race.

At lap 9, I'd figured that the IMs isn't doing too much favors for the car (where I crashed shortly after). What do you think? Given that in the actual race, a dry line would be formed. But with Spa's elevation being different compared to Dragon Trail Gardens, would you stick to full Wets instead?
It's so easy to do, especially on controller when you lose the steering at the apex because of the bump, I can't blame the pad issues this time though I just caught the kerb on the inside. I'm looking forward to trying this combo in the new 911 GT3 R on Thursday 🥰I made the same mistake in the porsche so many times

If I remember correctly last time I changed to Wet at lap 9.
It was already too late because being on the back I got rain for almost 1 lap.
However with so many cars on the track the line could last dry a little longer so you can change tires later than lap 5.
For my capabilities Wets were the right tires and I managed a good result at the end.
SO we should have rain during the 20 lap race, right? Anyway it's a long race + wet weather will make the race even more grueling. The fun bit will be understanding the track conditions the best & fastest to get some advantage over others. The race setup is identical to the last exhibition round including tyres, wear rates and minimum pitstops required. Round 4 saw me in the highest points lobby u've ever been (366) and scoring the highest I ever have (335). Qualified P8 with an awful lap so this is a story of what coulda'been. Gained 3 seconds on the lead between the end of lap 1 and the end of the race.. Decided to keep the points haul and solidify my spot in 2nd for AMG.
I'm now a whopping 500 points behind P1 and 250 ahead of P3. AMG is empty this season.
The weather is random / scripted. Meaning there are a few different scenarios, that can occur with the weather. I won this race in the last exhibition season, and the weather was very slow moving. Last time the rain appeared and stayed on lap 13. So those who pitted on lap 9/10 ended up having to pit twice. It's a strategic nightmare if the rain comes after the half way point because you might even be running on worn tyres.SO we should have rain during the 20 lap race, right? BTW, I drove a lobby race but there the race was in dry which I wasn't expecting as a lot if not every one are saying rain is imminent in the race.
Two of the best tracks, Nurburgring & Spa in back to back events is really invigorating. Thank goodness that the R8 is way better at Spa than it was yesterday at Nurburgring for me.

Same in my races. I’ve avoided contact a few times but sometimes there isn’t a way. On a side note the daily’s have gotten worse too.Well, this Cup series has been nothing less than a murder scene to my DR. I have had every track idiot you could have in my races, wreck to pass, punters, dive bombers, and blockers (block me as the race leader). It has been plain awful. I have not had one round that was not twisted metal or a mad max zone, in what started as high A dr lobbies. It has me almost sick to see months of clean race work destroyed this fast by people who don't give a sheet.

If you own any of the Gr3 Fords you can use them for Manufacturers races. If you choose Ford for Manufacturers Season, you can see the Ford GT for Gr.3. Any possibility to choose the Gr.3 Mustang?
