The R8 hates hates the kerbs & the Carousel for me is like nightmare fuel. The car hates the kerbs so much (the same very kerbs which I loved attacking in other cars) that I consciously avoid them which has hurt my overall pace at the track that I love so much.

Guess whatever result comes my way, I'll go for it with a grain of salt.

I also wonder how many would risk overtaking because one mistake from either car, You'll not only hit the barriers, the grass will hurt You even more. I wonder if keeping it clean, sane & a workable strategy is the name of the game at this event.
I recommed being a little bit slower by choice on your most difficult corners to try to get consistent. For example, if I go fast through Hocheichen (the last right-left turn before the first fast section of nordschleife) cutting the gras as the best do there is a 50% chance i spin out, so I choose to lose 2-3 tenths each lap there just to stay on track for 5 laps. But I agree its a brutal and unforgiving track, especially the curbs in the MR cars. Good luck my friend!

My approach to racing at Nord is simply to try to stay out of trouble. If I'm behind another driver, I follow them until the final straight or until they bin it. If another driver catches me, I let them by. They are either fast and consistent, in which case I wasn't going to have any chance of holding them off anyway, or fast and inconsistent, in which case I'll get the place back the next time they bin it. It tends to work out fairly well in the high DR B and low DR A lobbies I've driven in.

After doing some custom races for practice, I'm inclined to go with a 3RM-2RS strategy in both cars, even though it wasn't the optimal one in my testing in the Renault. The third lap in either compound was pretty close in time for me, but I find I'm much more inclined to make mistakes on the softs when they get worn. I'll give it a try and see how it goes.

Good luck to everybody who has yet to race!

I’ll go with the same strategy too.
I will be doing the 10:00 am EST time slot today so I wish we will get in the same race today.
Good luck out there racers

Sharing a vid of Ozzy_Racing (Youtube) who already took part in the green hell race. He sadly spun out & hit a barrier on his qualy run but he still qualified in P6 (8:17:282). He drove the R.S.01. Have informed him I'll be sharing his gameplay vid here so that we could prepare ourselves a bit better in seeing what all can happen.

He started on RS to go for a 2Rs-3RM strategy. As luck would have it, his first lap was a disaster of sorts. Not only did he spin on the grass, a car that was ahead of him spun too & when he was rejoining the track, his car didn't ghost so Ozzy_Racing hit into him with damage but no time penalty.

Because he had a bad first lap which pulled him down from P6 to P13, he went to the pits to change to RM with fuel stop as well. He eventually finished in P11.

P.S. - At the end of lap 3, whatever position You are into the first few corners of lap 4, that will be Your finishing position because by then all would've made their stops. The only factor that could change this is if someone crashes out in the front or some bizarre scenario that would get played out.

I think it's the optimal strategy for Renault. It's the one I've had the most success in practice lobbies. Now my muscle memory is locked in I'm definitely not going to change it last minute.

Think I'll jump on in the next hour and start doing some practice laps before the first slot. I've not done any TT for this round because I wanted to feel the tyre wear under lobby conditions for hotlaps. I feel very comfortable now with the tyre wear under quali. Good luck everyone!

hey today’s debrief will be a bit shorter cause there’s is not much to say and I forgot to save the replay so no screenshots this time.

Q: p4 (8:17.5**)
All DRB and SRS drivers
Started on RM and improved to p3 in the 2 firsts corners. By the time we got to the first Karusel I was sitting in p2. Lost p2 to an Audi on lap2 and on lap 3 a bit of contact resulting in an off track moment meant I got down to p5 (the leader had pitted so he was behind). Pitted at the end of lap 3 and got the RS. Was sadly stuck behind slower runner who had managed to undercut me (probably pitted on lap 1) but he had very worn tires and it took a while to find a way. By the time I overtook him the guys and the girl (Kathync) in front were all in the fight for the victory 10 seconds ahead so I had very little hope to catch them. I finished in a decent p6 with 112 points.
The guy who had made the contact (Edit: @tmtk) with me apologized after the race and I said sorry too cause I think I also closed the door on him so the contact was kind of 50/50.
Sorry for the lack of pictures today🤦‍♂️

And with some familiar GTP drivers (hi @BGreenFace!)

Qualification went pretty good, only a few small mistakes (one of them more costly than others), but I placed 2nd, so not too bad.

I was beating myself over strategy but eventually decided to play it safe and started on mediums.
First part of the opening lap went pretty good, Porsche on pole got away almost instantly so they were on softs probably.
When we go to the Nordschleife loop I got a bit of a cushion behind, BGreenFace held the pack a little (;)).

But then the Mutkurve happened where I hit the inside kerb which ejected me to the outside wall, loosing time and places.
It took me few good corners to recuperate, but then I just tried to hold on to whoever I saw ahead of me. The Nissan was loosing in top speed for sure, so I had to make sure to run good corners.

On lap 3 I found myself behind BGreenFace and in a massively optimistic move I tried to overtake at Schwedenkreuz. We inevitably hit each other on the apex and as I was on the inside I got relatively safe. BGreenFace did a run over the gravel and finished outside Aremberg. I felt guilty about it and waited for him down the Fuchsrohre, once we set the original order the race went on, but our Canadian friend lost his focus I presume and started doing mistakes, so I was at the front again at Kallenhard.

I am sorry I ruined your race, brother!

That all action lost me a lot of time and I started to give chase (running 4th), but soon enough (it was after the pit stop cycle) I found myself under much heat from the Canadian BMW. They were fast in the more straightforward sections (and both Karussells, as I am very slow there, you know button steering), I was making up time in the twisty parts.

Finally on the last lap, a very bad exit from the Karussel made me earn half a second penalty and with the BMW under a second behind, that was it. No more mistakes in the rest of the lap for both of us, so on the Dottinger I gave way and dropped to 5th.

GTWS26-Manu4-result.webp

I was relieved to see that BGreenFace finished only one spot down.
It was a good race, I liked it. No dirty stuff, thankfully. And for another top 5 finish, decent points (118), won't be trying again.

The Nordschleife is one of my favourite tracks and the one that I think made the Nissan shine (unlike Deep Forest), too bad the driver conducting it was full of mistakes.

Let's see the Spa!

I’m so sorry I hadn’t recognize you dude.
It was very nice racing with you and thanks for waiting for me after the accident that is real sportsmanship.
And for the record you didn’t ruin my race I made mistakes too.
I think I also made you hit the barrier on the left at Hohenrain. I didn’t see you coming on my radar as I was checking my fuel level so I’m sorry for that.

15 min qualifying... i only need to start the hotlap within that time? is there a limit the moment the first driver finishes his lap?

... and how long is the whole thing? qualy + 5 lap race must be more than one hour this time...

GT1 EMA 1st slot low A lobby 150ish points up for grabs

All my practice lobby races for this had been a disaster, where I couldn't do 1 lap without messing up somewhere so expectations were not high. Qualifying I cruised the outlap, braking early and making sure the tyres weren't squealing on the corners so started the flying lap with a good amount of grip on the S tyres and managed to keep the mistakes to only small ones. Put in a 8.15 for Q6 which was quite happy with.

Race, decided to start on S, thought I didn't need the pressure of fighting of anyone else on S tyres which was the right call as pretty much everyone else in the top 10 did as well. 1st lap, lost a few places to mistakes, gained a few back from others mistakes, then settled in P6 behind another Porsche with an almost identical pace for some great close driving.

Pitted on L2 for M with most everyone else, but managed to jump a Ferrari ahead by not refuelling due to short shifting (though it claimed I only had fuel for 2.9 more laps so felt I needed to be a bit more careful for the rest of the race). Ferrari then bumped me going into Karausel enough that I lost my line and they still took the position which was a bit rude. Managed to be a grown up about it and not retaliate and even bump drafted them on the big straight.

Finished P6 for 124 points - quite happy with that and actually had a great race. Was very impressed by how close in pace the little group I was racing with was and managed to keep the mistakes small.

Good luck to those yet to race!

Race is definitely over an hour - took me 1 hour 15 from entry to finish. After the 15 mins of qualifying there's a buffer time of at least 8 mins to finish your current lap (sorry couldn't remember exactly how much). I don't think anyone in my lobby failed to set a time

I think this is going to have to be my drop round. That did not go well. I think I may have been put into a higher split than usual and I definitely noticed it. I am miles off the pace at the Nurburgring apparently.

1769280417813.webp

My flying lap was a little sloppy but even taking the mistake out would have been P12 at best. So many people putting in lap times that are on par with or better than my free practice personal best (an 8:07) whilst dealing with the tyre wear. I'm guessing there's something about my driving style here that just doesn't hold up anymore at the ~55-56K DR range and I have no idea where to get that additional pace from. I was probably also a bit too cautious too.

The start was clean but I lost a position through turns 1 and 2. P11 (an Alfa Romeo) tried attacking P10 (Porsche) into turn 1 which led to P12 (VW Beetle) having to miss the apex, and that in turn messed up my line. That let another Porsche and a Supra through, but a Jaguar had been punted by a Dodge up front and then crashed into the wall trying to get around it.

I ended up following the Beetle around until I got to slipstream past down the Dottinger, but the Jaguar had recovered and was right up my bumper through most of the second half of the lap. He went for a move into turn 1 so back to P13. I stayed there for the entirety of lap 2 with the Beetle behind me, then pit to switch for Softs. I had practiced 2M-3S but I'm regretting trying it in the race now.

Laps 3 and 4 were fine, and I was up in P11 for a while but that last lap was horrible. The car felt so, so bad on the last lap. I had the Supra from earlier rapidly gaining on me up Kesselchen and I figured if I let him through, I might be able to just about hold on to keep P12. I got a couple of wheels on the grass, crashed into the wall at Mutkurve and collected the Beetle as he tried to avoid me bouncing across trying to get control back. I waited for him to recover and then followed in P13 to the end, finishing last of those who hadn't DNFed.

I had absolutely no chance in this lobby. My personal best race time practicing was 41:49, and the winner did a 41:04. If I could have my record time today, it would have barely been P9. P13 was worth 137 points.

Just did the Nurburgring round in an eventful manner in the 2nd slot

On my end, qualifying went with the out-lap being a 'warmup' not to shred the softs necessarily. So it took about 10 minutes at best before the actual qualification lap went through. Even if the timer goes to zero, there will be an additional 10 minutes before qualifying ends. My race took at least 45 minutes so it's a given that this round takes an hour in total

Gran Turismo® 7_20260124213011.webp

Started on P6 (or P7 depending on the screenshot since one had left) with a lap time of 8:13.878. 9.759 seconds off the leader with a 0.206 interval, which is not so bad when you think about it. Started on mediums too with the 3RM-2RS strategy.

Immediately in the first lap, I would have binned it if it wasn't for my save, all because the bumps proved to be too much for my car and I to handle, however no positions were lost.

Gran Turismo® 7_20260124222405.webp

It was smooth sailing with the mediums. Despite my best efforts to fuel save with short-shifting and setting the fuel mapping at two in some sections, the Jag was the thirstiest of the bunch at pitted after lap 3. When it came to the softs, I was in a position where a lambo that I was fighting against for P6, opened the opportunity for me to gain a position. But fearing for my fuel I opted to stay behind and see what comes as just in P5, a Lexus that started on Softs was now in mediums.

Gran Turismo® 7_20260124223035.webp

Honestly, I was expecting both cars to crash when they wanted to fight in the main part of the track, long before the Karussell. But I just watched that Lambo managed to overtake that Lexus when half the time it looked like it wanted to snap. And I didn't get to pass the Lexus as after the Karusell, I've stumbled a bit in terms of pace, and was only shy of touching its bumper at the finish line.

So I finished at P7 with 163 points (Maximum 218 points) to bag. 172 if I did pass the Lexus. Or 181 points if I just tried not to be careful for once!

And now I'm tied to another person at 5th place, in the manufacture's standings with a total of 670 points!

Could have, should have, would have....

Americas slot 5, GT2, 131 point lobby, door 3.

Didn't want to but did the 2RS-3RM, as I qualified on the front row, and it proved to be my downfall. I was leading as I pitted and came out in the 3RM-2RS traffic and crashed avoiding 6th place around halfway through lap 3 and that was all she wrote.

No more errors but could only manage the 3rd step on the podium. Not a terrible result, but I think I could have won.

Got called dirty by the Brazilian polesitter who was so slow on lap one in the GP section. I made contact 2x, but slowed both times to keep him in front, then he looped it entering the Nord all by himself. Rage quit after calling me a bunch of names I don't understand.

Disappointments aplenty so far today...

Team Aston Martin - V12 Vantage GT3 '12 - GT2 - 10AM EST - Americas - 115 points available - Door #11 - Q8 (8:23.704)
gtws-mc-rd4-79-racing.webp

I took it too easy on my RS tires during the outlap of qualifying. I had lots of tread for the flying lap, but the tires were cold for the first third of the lap. Still, Q8 is right about where I expected to be.

Right off the start, on T1, I was taken out, along with 4 other drivers, by a driver who missed their braking point wrong and became a bowling ball. I came out that mess in P14 (of 14 -- two drivers had already quit). I was in still in contact with most of the rest of pack, so there was still hope.

As lap 1 went on, there was the usual chaos. I benefitted from it. By the end of the lap, I was back up to P10, on the tail of the black Ferrari pictured above. I was hoping they'd make a mistake at some point, but no luck there. I chased them around for all of lap 2 and 3. At some point we went by a crashed car and gained a position each, putting me in P9.

We both pitted at lap 3. The Ferrari driver did the sensible, obvious, thing and changed to RS tires. I, on the other hand, chose the less conventional -- some would say, idiotic -- option of clicking the button before noticing that the cursor wasn't on the RS box. No tire change. No fuel.

But I beat the Ferrari out of the pits! Up to P8! :dopey:

That put me behind an AMG for lap 4. They were more considerate and made a mistake, allowing me to move up to P7.

Of course, I still had to switch tires, so I went into the pits a second time at the end of lap 4 to put on the RSs. I came out in P11 with a 10-second gap to the car ahead.

I did manage to narrow the gap down to 5 seconds, but it didn't matter. A disappointing P11 finish for 67 points and a 1.9% drop in DR B progress to 61.2%

Team Renault - R.S.01 GT3 '16 - GT2 - 1PM EST - Americas - 127 points available - Door #8

The game disconnected during the outlap of qualifying. No points. DR B progress down 0.4% to 78.0%.

Team Renault - R.S.01 GT3 '16 - GT2 - 2PM EST - Americas - 126 points available - Door #1

Disconnected again during qualifying. No points. DR B progress down another 0.4% to 77.6%.

The next available slot is at 7PM EST. I will try that, but if that doesn't work, I'm done for the day.

Probably the worst track in the game for me Nurburg. Not sure how you're supposed to be able to remember all of it + keep your car on the road from all the bouncing around.

I figured it was worth entering just to pick up points from the people that wreck & quit.

Oh my. Just did a race 110 minutes ago. Started 2nd. 1st did a booboo in the second turn. But still 2 others passed me. Especially "Nürburgring Jäger" was very fast. I wanted to go 2 laps RM, 3 laps RS but stayed out on RMs for a 3rd lap as the guys around me stayed clear and fair without slowing each other down.

Pitted lap 3 more than 7 seconds behind Nürburgring Jäger in his Merc but came out 2 seconds in front. He seemed to take a lot of fuel. I didn't and had no problem with a little short shifting in the Jag. There was a guy about 13 seconds in front and i thought he maybe still has his stop ahead of him.

After lap 4 he didn't pit and was still 8 seconds in front, i think. So a 50/50 chance that he forgot to pit. Somehow lap 4 was my and everyone's fastest lap and i still managed to stay 2-3 seconds in front of Nürburgring Jäger who pressured me.

Than i came close to the leader fast. My impression now was, that he's not a top guy in the lobby and forgot to pit. But i couldn't be sure. I tried to bring him between me and Nürburgring Jäger but on the last straight the Lambo overtook me again.

I tried to stay save in the last corners amd maybe catch him with a better exit but he bottled the corners a bit and we almost crashed as i tried to get him. He finished about 0,15 seconds in front of me... but I still won. :D He really didn't pit. Nürburgring Jäger was 0,8 seconds behind me.

This was my most exciting online race up to now, i think. So exciting that i forgot to save the replay (again).

Well that was another somewhat disappointing round in the manufacturer series.

First slot i qualified P13 with a 8:13.7 and i decided to quit the race after i spun on lap 3.

In the 2nd slot, I qualified P11 with a 8:13.0, i could have done a high 8:12 if i never made a small mistake at Brunnchen. At the start of the race i went a little too deep at T1, and i gave a small bump to a Subaru, and then a BMW went into the back of me which cause my car to spin round and face the wrong way. I felt bad for the BMW because they received a 5 second penalty, which they shouldn't have received imo.

I was now at the back of the field and i was 4 seconds behind the pack, which i slowly closed the gap on. For my tyre strategy i decided to do 2 medium and 3 soft, which allowed me to go from P14 to P11. I gained another 2 places after someone left the lobby and a fellow Ferrari went off into the barriers after losing traction.

I finished P10, i was in P9 but a BMW got past me on the last lap since my tyres were a bit worn.

Team Renault.

I had high hopes for the Renault in this race. All my practice this week had produced positive results, some against very fast A+ drivers. So my goal was to try and get on the podium.

After completely bottling my quali by almost sending myself into Barry R at Eschbach, I lost at least 1 sec, to finish my lap in 8:08.949 when I was on course for an 8:07, which would have put me on pole!

This turned out to be a blessing in disguise, as I started 3rd, behind a Dutch Ferrari 296 driver
(on pole) and a French Porsche driver.

At turn 1, the Porsche driver completely wipes out P1 and I go through to take first, only for the over aggressive Porsche driver to do a push to pass on me and reclaim back first place. Because he was on soft tyres, he had the advantage in the turns and slowly pulled away. Leaving myself and an Audi driver
(also on mediums), to give chase.

Karma kept the receipts (as she always does), and the Porsche driver (in P1) crashed at the top of The Dottinger. Completely killing his race, and leaving myself and the Audi driver to battle it out for the rest of the race. This was a very comfortable drive after the drama of lap 1, and my 3 medium, 2 soft strategy worked perfectly.

1st place and 237pts, (a season best) and a 2689 DR increase in just this one race!!! Taking me comfortably into A+ territory.

A great day at the office, but now the hard work really begins, as I get matched up with even faster drivers in Round 5 at Spa!

Replay attached if anyone wants to skim through my race. Good luck in round 5 fellas!

Qualified 7th. Binned it at the first corner, I had to go to the inside braking later than another GT-R and I hit the kerb on the right too hard as I was turning and spun round. Ended up 15th, would have been last but for a guy in a Porsche who got reset after being nudged just a bit further right than I had gone.

Made it up through the first lap safely enough, ended up catching and bump drafting an AMG. He pitted on lap 2 and I stayed out. I passed him here, my third lap on mediums was faster than his first on softs. I caught a few other cars on the last two laps as their tyres went and I got back to 7th. I ended up finishing 6th after another Porsche had tried a no-stop.

My last practice race time was 41:55, and if I'd done that I would still have finished where I did, so no harm done. Minus swearing loudly then having very little to do for the subsequent 40 minutes.

Praying for rain on Wednesday.
