When are the next events happening for us normal online players?

---

Note about loaner updates: While Hyundai's Gr.4 loaner and Porsche's Gr.3 loaner were both updated, Mazda's Gr.4 loaner is somehow still the Atenza Gr.4.

Woohoo! I was beginning to lose hope that we'd see a season at all this spring. Six rounds. All Saturday races (skipping May 23, presumably because of the live event). A mix of Gr.3 and Gr.4. I can dig that.

Rd.1 - Gr.3 - Catalunya - 18 laps, 1x fuel, 2x tires, RM/RH required
Rd.2 - Gr.4 - Fuji (Short) - 10 laps, 1x fuel, 1x tires, RH tires
Rd.3 - Gr.3 - Dragon Trail Gardens - 20 laps, 1x fuel, 5x tires, RS/RM available (none required)
Rd.4 - Gr.3 - Sardegna A - 15 laps, 2x fuel, 4x tires, RS/RM required
Rd.5 - Gr.4 - Bathurst - 13 laps, 2x fuel, 4x tires, RM tires, 1 mandatory pit
Rd.6 - Gr.3 - Nurburgring Endurance - 5 laps, 1x fuel, 3x tires, RH tires, 1 mandatory pit

I'll be going with Chevy and Alfa Romeo this season. As usual, it's not because I feel they are especially well-suited to this season, but just because they were the least popular manufacturers in Canada last season that I have yet to use.

Is anyone well acquainted with the current BoP and could give a recommendation on what brands to avoid? Just want to make sure I don't end up realizing that I am driving a steaming pile of garbage one race into the series.

The bottom 10 manufacturers from last season might be a good place to start:

I've driven most of these in previous seasons (obviously not all under the current BoP). The only ones that really stand out as brands I would definitely avoid in the future are Suzuki, Mitsubishi, and Aston Martin. The rest I would be comfortable driving in the DR B lobbies that I find myself in these days.

This season includes the Gr.4 cars, though, so you might want to take that into consideration, too. I personally find the BMW Gr.4 car very difficult to get any pace out of because of how aggressively it needs to be short-shifted.

A lot of this is subjective, though. Your driving style might suit different cars than mine does.

Should make picking a manufacturer fun 🤷‍♂️ If you are forced into 1 for Gr3 and 4 it should at least stop the dominance of certain Gr4 cars as their Gr3 equivilant is poor enough. I might do Porsche on 1 account and pick something random for my other one

How is Alfa performing with high speed track?
I was running last time with Renault and Gr4 car was stuck on straight.
is it Alfa better?

I've been driving the Alfa in Daily Race C since last season, only with the 4C, though. I haven't tried the 155 2.5 V6 TI '93 at all. Even still, it's hard to say, since everybody else tends to drive the Citreon in Gr.4 races. It can't really keep up with those, but I haven't felt like it was at any huge disadvantage, either. Once it gets into the slipstream, it seems able to keep up, probably because it is so much lighter than other cars.

One thing I have noticed is that the 4C is really bad off the rolling start compared to other cars. Once it gets going, though, it seem to be okay.

The one major advantage the Gr.4 4C has is in tire wear. That should help a lot for the race at Bathurst.

I suspect the 155 will be faster at Fuji, though. I'll need to test that.

Points Adjustment Update
For top-tier matchmaking in the GT1 League, an extra 100 points will now be awarded uniformly and added to the Points Ranking. These extra points will be applied from the ‘Gran Turismo World Series' 2026 Exhibition 1 – Manufacturers Cup, starting on Saturday, 25 April.

Further points adjustments will also be introduced in future exhibition competitions.
This is new.

Sooo... is that saying the top "split" (ugh) in each slot will get 100pt more for every position?

I imagine the goal for that would be to reward being in top "split" (ugh) and prevent drivers in second "split" (ugh) from farming what's notionally easier races to qualify?

The levels of manipulation required to even make that possible are much more unwieldy than simply remarking you'll go again in another slot...

I think there might be some tweaks to the BOP on Thrusdays update, so I'm holding off on signing with anyone until then. I must say though, this was a nice surprise to see a new exhibition season. I also love the schedule, which works perfectly with my work / life balance.

In terms of choosing a manufacturer, my last few seasons have been with Renault. I managed 2nd overall in EMEA, last official season. But I'm looking very closely at Hyundai, mainly because of the new Elantra (GR4) or Jaguar, which I've not driven before.

I'm expecting a lot of people to sign for Ferrari and Porsche, as they are the newest GR3 cars in the game.

For me it will be only Fuji because on the 30th May I will be away.
Still thinking which car to take and also whishing to try something new...
...but your tire / track info were vital to me... so really tempted to follow you... (don't look at me like a parasite)...

If anyone is interested then i have this lobby set up for Gr4 at Bathurst as i think this will be the track which defines peoples Manufacturer choices. View attachment 1531180All set up as close as possible to the information given. Will start at 9:30pm

I am not really used to lobby but there is a smart way to find your lobby not navigating trough all the pages?

I just noticed when I was setting up a custom race for testing Rd.1 at Catalunya that this race is a repeat from the 2025 Qualifying season (Rd.3). I was in the Jaguar for that season. The fastest strategy for me then was 17RM-1RH.

I've done a bit of testing so far in the Alfa Romeo. It is looking like it will be the same situation for this car. 17RM-1RH.

Maybe the Corvette will be different. We'll see.
