I ran the first GT2 slot in North America at 12PM EDT. It was an all B/S lobby with 109 points on offer. I was in door #8.
I managed to get three flying laps in for qualifying, but the third was dud because I caught up to the driver ahead of me. No matter. The second was good enough: 1.27.589 for Q3.

The race got off to a good start. The P2 driver must have not been expecting to start in first gear. They got a horrible jump off the line and I easily pulled ahead as we drove through the tunnel. Sadly, that's where my luck ended for the first lap. I was on RMs, planning a 12RM-9RS-9RS strategy, and getting way more wheel spin on the infield than I was expecting. I made a few mistakes and dropped back to P5.
As the race settled down, I was able to put in some decent laps and work my up the field. I was back to P3 when I pitted for RSs on lap 12. Came out in P5, in a nice gap with nobody around. That let me put in some good laps. Some of the cars ahead pitted, but I managed to catch and pass the leader on lap 19. When they went in for RSs on lap 20 about 2 second behind me, obviously doing a 1-stop.
I pitted for the second time on lap 21, coming out ahead of the former leader who'd pitted the previous lap. There were still a few cars ahead, but I figured they were either going to pit again or were trying an illegal strategy. As the laps went on, all but one of the cars ahead went into pits, promoting me to P2.
The leader was 8-10 seconds ahead and since they were behind me on lap 20, I figured they were running an RM-RM one-stop strategy, so I wasn't too concerned about catching them. But on lap 28, they spun on the final corner. That tightened the gap considerably.
Over lap 29, I was able to catch them. They were obviously struggling with their tires. I had the run on them on the main straight, but when I went to pass them, they swerved in front of me for a block. Despite running into their back, my tires were still good enough to make another attempt on the straight, but as soon as I had some overlap, they tried to push me into the wall. I wasn't about to sacrifice my race for this clown, so I stayed behind, biding my time for a good opportunity to get by.
That finally came on the final corner of lap 30.

They lost the back end. I zipped by as they attempted to recover. From there it was short sprint to the finish line for the win.

That's 109 points and 6% boost to my DR. I'll take it.
BTW, it turns out the other driver was on a legal strategy. They'd pitted from RMs to RSs on lap 19. It's no wonder their tires were smoked at the end. I'm amazed they were able to make the tires last as long as they did.
