Now I know it sounds like Forza Horizon a little, but I think the series deserves something more than a track racer where you race the same tracks over and over. Imagine taking all that polyphony digital experience and putting it into an open world. I know it would be a huge sell because people just like to cruise around, they do it on gt6 now. If they had a whole world to cruise around with their friends I see another big game by polyphony digital. Let's hear what everyone has to say.

Polyphony has always been a cat with a lion's bite. An open-world Gran Turismo game would just be too much work to be of any value to the company. Its production would probably take a good few years at least. Just look at how much hassle Circuito de la Sierra was. Everyone here was moaning for those months like it was the end of the world because a single track hadn't arrived yet.

That said I do think that the finished product would be nothing short of epic - a map half the size of the United States of America and over 800 unique cars with basic customisation options across the board.

I may no longer want to play Gran Turismo in 2025 though...

I dream of this happening all the time....figuratively speaking, of course. :D
Imagine this scenario of open-world GT where "standard" cars are used by NPCs, there are actual used car dealerships, drift and touge battles on the streets/mountainside all the while the cruising community gets their wish and just...cruise. You get rewarded for sensible driving while not racing, there would be plenty of opportunity for one-of-a-kind photo shoots, integrate seamless MP experience similar to Test Drive Unlimited but better (read smoother); customizable radio stations, avatars, cars with livery editor...
Basically addressing 80% of all complaints, in other words.
