“There exists a world where islands of all shapes and sizes float in a sea of clouds. It is a world forsaken by the gods. Once upon a time, people known as the Astrals attempted to seize control of this world with their overwhelming might, but the citizens of the skies repelled the invaders, thus ushering in a new era of peace. Living on a little-known island in a remote part of the skies, you find a letter left behind by your father telling you to set off for a legendary island. However, before you leave, you meet a mysterious girl named Lyria, inevitably setting the wheels of fate in motion.”

Granblue Fantasy is an Action RPG created by CyGames that is predominantly a mobile game, with a working PC port. Their gaming arsenal also includes a fighting game called Granblue Fantasy Versus, using a typical 2D scrolling map for the combat.

On February 1, 2024, CyGames will be releasing a 3D world RPG called Granblue Fantasy: Relink for the PlayStation 4/5, and will also be available on Steam. The easiest way to describe what this game is would be a mix of the newer Final Fantasy games in terms of combat, where you control one character and the rest of your party fights freely on their own, while also mixing in other popular RPGS like Genshin Impact with the element system. You will be able to play with up to 3 other people online to complete quests or do whatever. There is currently a playable demo for the game available where you can learn how the combat system works, while also exploring a tidbit of the main story, and a couple of quests on the side where you can control some of the characters that will be in the final game.

The final game at launch will have at least 100 different quests, 20+ hours of story, and nearly 20 playable characters to choose from, all with different styles, abilities and elements to choose from.
