Grand Turismo 7 sport mode broken?

What is up with Gran Turismo 7 sport mode. Every match im lined up with cars out of my league and you would figure after a bunch of matches they would align you with comparable drivers but its always the same thing. Also you get run off the road with and then are stuck having to get back on the track with little penalty to the other rider. And if you even lightly touch somebody else and at times or if they bump you, you're penalized. This mode is currently so bizarre. Other races are set with with races for car levels you dont even own and have to rent to get into. So far everything seems like a big money grab. Any tips from people who have found a way around the crappy match making etc would be appreciated.
 
Probably need to play a fair few more sport races 30-40 so the game gets a good grasp of where you should be ranked.

As for the ramming/penalties. It’s not the best. We are all learning to deal with it.
 
Played more than 40 matches have a clean record and still always start the same starting position everytime. Game is always the same. Get a bit ahead and then the game slows you down and then puts you close to where you were to begin with. You get pushed out of line by other drivers pushing you off the course for a mere 4 second penalty for them while you try to navigate back to the track. Even after 4 second penalties with the same car as you they manage to catch up to you and blow by you. This game is absolute garbage. Looks amazing but game schematics, AI or whatever you would like to call it is just bad. Sometimes I wonder if its just a ploy so that you'll spend money on other cars in hopes of a fair playing field. Anyone who is wondering about this game, up until you finish the cafe its ok. After that toss it aside until they start letting you be able to sell your cars. By that time I'm sure they make some updates.

At some point you went from talking about Sport Mode to talking about single player. But I can't figure out where...
 
I find i rather amusing sport mode, i'm curently B/S and i'm always in the B/S leaque with 2 or 3 A drivers, sure some people have to learn to brake in time, and sometimes they brake to early or i mid corner so you bounce a bit, but just get better, learn to adapt to those, and don't try to get first out of a hairpin at the start when placed 6th on the grid.

There are som errors in the penalty-system, but overall there is no problem getting a clean race bonus and level up.

Set a better qualy time?
