You can run as many qualifying laps as you like and post as many qualifying times as you wish. Standings will be updated every day.

Qualifying ends midnight Thursday.

All right guys...let's see what you can do. Good luck to all.

A big thank you to all who participated. Best of luck to you guys in the race.

Dude modify the rules on the first post of the other thread...people only checking the first post will understand we are still racing at 599hp.

Still trying to figure out this new series of turns before the first tunnel.

1'38.229

still getting used to the T-Dome NSX. first time i've felt that PD have made the MR cars handle significantly different to the FR cars.

Have run a 1min 40sec something on soft tyres, (a clean but conservative lap)
pre-set gear ratio No 11
downforce Front=45 Back=65
Asm both at 1
TCS at 1

Had oil change and the T-Dome NSX is developing 518bhp according to the graph at the top right of the settings page

IforceV8: great lap time. I'll be lucky to get near that. You've got pole position so far.

eatsviper4lunch: The rules have been edited to show all cars must have stock HP, except for oil changes. I didn't think it would be a big deal, since we can't do anything to them and keep them under 599 hp, so the stock hp or max 599 hp would basically be the same thing. But it has been changed, and I look forward to seeing some blistering laps.

Good luck to all drivers.

I spent a couple of hours over the last 2 days getting setup for the Q session. I plan on using the rest of the week testing settups and tires for the race, so this will be my one entry:

1'36.347 (32.874/1'03.283)

One tip for the Nissan drivers out there, pay close attention to the Power Band! Dunno how this would affect those Toyota and Honda pilots

Thats a solid lap Rick. 👍 I can see from your T2 that im +1.000 to that point (in my better lap which i dont have posted yet).

Thats a great point about the revs.I did check to see and the V8 loves to run up to 7500.The cut-off point was 5500-6000 in the Skylines and 6300 in the 4 cyl Supras if i remember right.

DS2 controller here.

only could get a lap of - 1'40.595 - :yuck: DS2

only have 493hp to play with - Toyota Castrol Tom's Supra #24 -

Looks like the Honda's are going to own me, but we will see at the end

Made some small gains but now its time to focus on race setups.

33.116
1.03.875

1.37.022

70km on the clock a few tweaks to the settings.

Still a touch more understeer than i would like, May do a few more laps, but want to figure out a race strategy.

32.852
1'03.110

1'36.220

Damn. Those are some killer lap times.

I was finally able to do a few qualifying laps last night. This is with a stock set-up, only change is using the super-soft tires. (Jeez, after seeing all of your times, I'm almost embarassed to post this.)

Sector 1: 34.442
Sector 2: 1:07.101
Lap time: 1:41.888

I'm still trying to get used to the tightened left-right-left between the first two hairpins and the new section before the bridge. Looks like I have a lot of work ahead of me, but doing more laps and playing around with the set-up should gain a few seconds.

1'38.262

not sure if im gonna compete anymore
i pulled off the most i could with my car, and im still 2 seconds off pace...

haha if that happens during the race, i have no chance so...
kinda dissapointed that i had to pay 1,350,000 for the supra too... BLEH~

lol no way we can keep up with the Xanavi Nismo, WoodOne Tom’s and Motul Pitwork :indiff:

I have no clue in hell where I'm actually loosing time but those chronos are just crazy fast!

oh, and you should put the sector times also in the first post that way it's a great reference when comparing times :sly:

WOW Mulsanne! Didn't realize this thread had been launched. (Been busy with my daughter's graduation from University.)
My only Goal is NOT to get lapped by the "Fast Guys" Still no time to run a true qualifier so just to get on the board, I'll just submit a time from an early test session. 1'42.342...O.G. :D

Spent a little more time last night trying to improve my lap time. Best I could do was:

Sector 1: 33.504
Sector 2: 1:04.773
Lap time: 1:38.460

Driver's helmet off, race director's hat on.

hOt6o4bOi: Stay the course, man. You're fourth on the grid and only about two seconds off the pole.

And (no offense to the fast guys) being fast on one lap doesn't always translate to being fast for 60 laps. (At least, that's what I'm hoping for.) Consistent, error-free laps and good pit strategy is going to be the key. And besides, it's all in fun.

1'41.937! Read it and weep 'cos that's what I'm doing

:D

EDIT: 1'40.654 Ha!

I hear ya. Like I said, stay the course and run the race. You never know how the race will turn out.

What I'm surprised about is the fact that Toyotas are in three of the top five spots. I know most of us expected the Nissans, especially the Motul Zs and Xanavi Skylines, to dominate. (I know, I'm not doing my part as a driver to make that happen, but what can I say, I'm slow.)

O.G.: congrats to your daughter. Must be a very proud day in a father's life. BTW, how much sand can you fit into the trunk of a Motul Z? :D

I think you may have misread me. I will run the race. Even tho' I'm going to be at the back, I'll still be there.

Yeah I misread you. My bad. I'm just a little nervous about someone thinking about abandoning the race because their qualifying time isn't what they expected. That's why I said earlier that the race could have a totally different outcome than qualifying. And most importantly, it's all about fun.

boyaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

I give up! I was stuck in the 1:40's for ages and then finally lapped 3 straight 1:39's. But the thing I don't understand is how I'm still loosing one full second on Sector 1 over the normal time I should do. I'm really pushing...just don't know where to improve there. :guilty: :indiff:

1'39.800 (34.771/1'05.517)

Now working on the real race strategy. :sly:

THANX Mulsanne: 👍 Indeed it is! My time was run w/R-1 s...in MY case at least fitting soft tyres just for qualifying screws up my braking & "turn in" points. I just hope I finish higher up on the board than I've qualified! ...O.G. :D

eatsviper: pretty good lap. Do 39's and 40's in the race and you could be up there. (at least I'm hoping that's the case, since I'm in the same boat...)

Just wondering if anyone has been able to take the left-right-left between the first two hairpins flat out yet? Even with super-softs and all the downforce, I still have to lift slightly. Sounds kinda like Eau Rouge at Spa-Francorchamps.

O.G.: So you are sandbagging! I knew it! :D "Just say NO to hot laps" right?

1:42.368 Not very happy with this time but I havn't had much time to run.

I can take that combo flat with supersofts, and with race setup nearly flat only a very slight lift, maybe i could take it flat with race setup, not sure.

whooohooo let's go Toyota guys, let's own the entire field and teach those Nissans and Hondas a lesson :D Good luck to all with the race.

I can take the right left flat out in race spec. just have to stay hard left on the entrance pull right as the righthand rumble strip curves off so you meet it later in the curve then hard left before you can see the apex on the left, two wheels on the rumble strip and down the hill. Its my favourite part of the track. most laps i do lift off just to be safe and more consistant, lets face it, flat you'll safe fractions of a second, crash and your 5 secs behind.

I really couldn't get used to soft tyres for qualifing though, spend all my race time in GT mode on mediums, hard or superhards.

Wow I know the qualif are done but what a moron I am! I stayed in the testing lobby all the time I did my tuning & setting, only to realize once I got out and went in my garage to see that the car only was pushing 471hp. :ouch: I go for an oil change and return, 495hp showing up. Congrats to me for doing all the laps on my final setup with an underpowered car.

I go back to test again my final setup with a fully healthy motor and on lap 1 I'm already ahead. 12 laps done and all of them are dead consistent in the 1'39's none stop, best at the 12th lap 1'39.008 (34.605/1'05.193). Was ahead about .200 on the next lap but spun out.

What surprised me the most was how easy it was all of a sudden to lap 1'39's, damm I could of done it none stop all night long. Easy easy this setup should run in the mid 1'38's. This really gives me a big confidence boost just before the race. :p :D
