OK guys, took the plunge with PC2 (downloading as is type). I've been out of the PC gaming world for a very, very, very long time and would like to know what settings you guys would recommend for stable FPS (priority) and graphical fidelity.

Here are my relevant specs:
OS: Win 10
CPU: i5 7600K
GPU: Zotac 1080 mini (no OC)
Mem: 16GB
TV: 40 inch 1080p

Thanks in advance.

I think you can crank up most things to ultra with some super sampling and still run 60fps plus, since you only have a 1080p screen. I run mostly ultra with some high settings and get close to 100 FPS even in rainy weather and I have a 1070.

Turn V-Sync off. Turn on the Steam FPS counter. Turn all the game settings to Ultra and see how it goes at Long Beach at night in a thunderstorm from a standing start with a max grid of AI.

You can gain FPS by tinkering with the Post-Processing Effects, turning on some Motion Blur, and turning Grass down.

If that is still not good enough, turn SMAA to Medium.
