hi all.

i have been playing gt since it first came out and i love the game but i have problems with the graphics. shadows look all square and jagged instead of smooth. line flicker on some tracks. and when watching a replay from racing in the snow or rain the graphics are really poor. i have played around with settigs but have no joy. my tv is a 42inch samsung 1080p, 3d, led backlit so i know its not that causing a problem and i have turned of the upscaler on my ps3 settings as i know that can cause problems to. i find this very frustrating cos i know this game looks the nuts from vids and pics i have seen so can anyone give me any tips or idears on what i can do to fix this issue.

Thats just the way it is!

Still the best looking racer on consoles though!

Been like that since launch. Get used to it.

Shadows are like that , screen flicker and bad quality during rain replays... rain replays look phenomenal and screen flicker might be your TV although in game during weather the frame rate drops

This is a limitation of the outdated Nvidia chipset that's in the PS3 and not really Polyphony's fault. You'll notice blocky shadows in other games as well. Motorstorm is a good example, they just mask it a little more. Both Nvidia and ATI had crappy shadows and really weird shadow anomalies back then. New video card technology is leaps and bounds ahead so I'm sure we'll be seeing some nice shadows in the new consoles.

It's the limits of the PS3. Most PS3 games have the same problems with shadows, even Uncharted which is one of the better games in terms of graphics.

My tv is fine so maybe it is just the console. Thanx guys.

Actually the graphics are getting better per pieces periodically lauched by Polyphony Digital, so I guess they are making efforts to offer a game with high quality of graphics(and physics too) to the best of their ability. But it would take much longer to create a game without any flaw in the image if we wish them to do it for our cravings.
