I was watching a Youtube video of Assetto Corsa and noticed the shadow underneath the car is looking pretty bad. I am not sure if it is the bad Youtube video quality or the game itself. Here is a picture of the bad shadow and click on the image to enlarge:

Here is the Youtube video I was watching at the 6:51 time mark:

I notice the a lot of bad shadows from this game and not just this video. Is that a normal thing for Asseto Corsa? I am planing to buy this game for the PS4 console but may change my mind if the graphics is really that bad.

My guess is that the odd under car shadows and floating car effect is more noticeable in certain lighting conditions because of the games graphical engine limitation - it only supports one light source.

To even consider not purchasing one of the best feeling racing simulators to grace the genre because of some rather minor graphical downfall is silly though. The graphics are not bad by any means at all and have nothing to do with the actual driving, which is what we play these simulators for, no?

If it's a major concern for you I suggest you wait until it's released and watch some console replays. None of us have any idea about how shadows are handled on console.

Nobody buys Assetto Corsa for the stunning graphics. If a glitched shadow is making you think about not buying the game then you probably didn't want it too much in the first place.

Here is a PS4 video so judge for yourself.

Could be the problem is the PC that this player is using. Maybe not enough RAM to display the highest quality graphics. Hopefully the graphics will look much better for the PS4 console.
No, the RAM is most likely no factor here. Interesting issue. I could have something to do with the lighting in those weather conditions. It could also be that the shadow polygons get "buried" under that concrete, because they seem to become visible again when the car hits the asphalt. If that's the case then you won't notice it much in-game, because that concrete is what ... 0.0001% (taken out of thin air) of the total surface area in the game?
I'll see if I can reproduce it when I get home.

It could be due to a graphical setting on the users PC. It could be due to a weather/graphics mod that isn't well done or is configured improperly. It could be due to improperly configured image capture software, or YouTube compression gone wrong. It could be due to any number of things that were external to AC. I've never seen a shadow like that in all of my hours of playing. But definitely, if a shadow on a YouTube video looks weird you should stay away from the game at all costs because it's clearly rubbish!
