Ok, This tutorial I am writing as I go here, so bear with me. I ran it with Photoshop elements, and it came out very well. If pictures are needed to go along with it, I will post them. Anyway, this tut is about how to repair gravel that you may have needed to blur in any way shape or form (like if you were expanding the area the gravel covers and can see very easily the lines where you used the stamp tool). Let's begin!
Step 1:
Ok, The first part of this tutorial is selecting the area to be fixed. You can use the polygon lasso tool, or any other selecting method to get the desired area selected. Now, copy the selected are into a new layer. This can be done by hitting CTRL+C and then CTRL+V.
Step 2:
Now, go to the layers palet (think that's how it's spelled) and right click on the thumbnail of the layer of blurred gravel. Scroll down the menu that pops up to "Select Layer Transparency."
Step 3:
Next, add some noise by Filter>Noise>Add Noise. Use the settings that follow: Ammount: 3.50, Distribution: Uniform.
Step 4:
Now, use the shear filter (Filter>Distort>Shear) with the setting on wrap around. You want to add 3 distortion points into the line, making it look wavy (not too consitant, may make the image bad). Then, using the resize tool, adjust the gravel until it fits.
Step 5:
If the pavement doesn't appear right, then use the "Adjust colors" pallet and adjust it until it fits.
Step 6:
Now, merge the gravel layer with the background layer, and youre done! Continue your chop until it is finished, and then post it in the photoshopped cars thread (or the PSC You may be participating in).
