how much that cost....i wanna smell purtty too.

Example: You dont know how much you use your thumb until you lose it! etc

I already know what will happen when I lose my thumb, I can't pick up ****.

How productive was that post... That is what the test forum is for... I doubt you even read these posts...

Just take a moment, and look around you. Everything is still. Why? Gravity.

I was at work about 30 days ago when i had a revelation. Gravity.

All my life, I had never really stopped and noticed it. I lived with it everyday, used it to my advantage, and paid it no mind. Until 30 days ago.

I was sitting at my desk when I noticed the mail. It was just sitting there. Just - sitting there. No movement. Nill. Yada. Zero. Zilch.

Then I felt my butt. It felt glued to the chair. Later on I stand and my feet feel glued to the floor. Now I left up a piece of mail, just about 3 inches. I release it and it falls down and is stuck to the desk. Like something was pulling it down. I repeat this 5 times. I am very amused at the results.

Then I pick up a piece of mail again. My arm felt the mail had "weight"' Why do I feel weght? I refresh my memory.

All matter weighs the same in space, or does it? I'm sure it does. Put me and a car in space and a child could pick both of us up with ease. But why does this all change on Earth? Gravity

Mass is what gives objectS their 'weight'. How so? Well, the more mass you have, the more gravity has to pull on to.

Now, some 30 days later, I like to call gravity Earth's glue. I think that is a good nickname. Look how it is gluing your behind to your chair. Look how your drink does not float off. Look how cars do not float off but are glued to the road.

How would you like it if what went up had a 50/50 chance of coming down? How would you like it if everytime you jumped you didnt know when/where you were going to land?

Also, press your hand against something. Is the pressure you feeling your hand pressing the object or the object pressing back? The answer will surprise you.

The whole point of this is to respect gravity, one of Earth's perfect features that benefit us and all life.

So if you think us human brotherhood otherlooks something big everyday or you really appreciate something about life that others overlook or dont know about post it here! Example: You dont know how much you use your thumb until you lose it! etc

It's amazing what you think about when your'e high, don't you think Earth?

I think that without gravity the earths matter would become loose and would float away from the spot it was a second ago. Earth is rotating on its axis, it is also rotating around the sun, and we are also flying either away from or towards the center of the universe. I was reading an article somewhere that said all matter is flying towards the center of the universe; it also said that some scientists said that they think that it is flying away from a central point of the universe. So as we are being whipped in so many directions as gravity would hold us in a stationary place on earth, the absence of gravity would hold us in a fixed place in "space". With all the movement going around us with the rushing towards or away from the center of the universe it would seem like you are floating through space when it is really floating past you. As you drop something you watch it fall towards the center of the earth where gravity is directing everything else to go, what you have to think about is, is gravity pulling towards the center, or is gravity pushing towards the center. Why do you assume that gravity pulls why cant gravity push matter towards the center. I remember a 7th grade science teacher telling us that when you suck through a straw you aren’t pulling the liquid up the straw, the difference in pressure of the liquid in the glass and the straw are great enough to push the liquid up the straw and into your mouth. He also told us that in the universe nothing is ever pushed directly, it always has many forces to help the movement, why is gravity always pulling and never pushing? If you where to drill a hole through the earth and you where to jump in that hole and fall to the center what would happen when you reached the center? Would you stop immediately, would you fly back and forth until you stopped then float in the middle?

Earth is not the only thing with its own form of gravity all things with mass put out their own small gravitational field.......i dont remember why maybe because the atoms move around crazy fast......hmmm....well i learned it last year in science so......if i think of why i'll post it

Non of that stuff would just float off, it needs an external force to move it. If gravity was removed right now very little would happen to the objects around you. Sure the earth's atmosphere would dissapate into space but gravity is weak.

If you jumped with no gravity you wouldn't land.

The pressure you feel when pressing against an object is the force normal, basically that is the strength of bongs between atoms in the substance. Liquids have very weak bonds (if any). You break through it when the force you exert over comes the strength of the bonds. Every action has an equal or opposite reactio meaning you are exerting a force on the object and the bonds are exerting a force on your hand

I don't know if I am just repeating what someone else said, I don't feel like reading all the posts.

wrong. i said this in my earlier post, since the earth is spinning and flying through the universe the loss of all gravity on our planet would send all things outside and not anchored down(that is if the earths crust stayed in contact) would fly linearly(sp) away. because the earth would throw you off into space. imagine a spinning spherical electro magnet with a small metal orb on it as the magnitized orb still spun and the magnet was turned off(in an already weightless place) the small orb would fly away from the larger one, it would not fly away as soon as it used its own energy to make it fly away. as the same thing would happen if earth lost its gravity.
