A lot of great movies are defined by their epic battles. Here's poll series that puts them head to head!

Round 1:

Battle of Genosis, from Star Wars Episode II: Attack of the Clones

vs.

Battle of Helm's Deep, from Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers


Some of you may wonder why Genosis is not up against Pelennor Fields. Reason: upcoming SW: Ep III battle scene is a better match up for RotK.

star trek ds9 - dominion vs. federation

independence day - black knights vs. aliens
war of the worlds - whole movie

I'll bet babylon 5 has some good candidates.

Any of the LOTR movies are going to slam dunk over any of the second-gen Star Wars movies, no problem.

Helm's Deep has orc siege engines
Genosis has Republic gunships

Martyrs
Helm's Deep has hordes of elves kicking ass and dying
Genosis has hordes of Jedi kicking ass and dying
Advantage: Genosis

At risk
Helm's Deep has cute little children hiding in caves in jeopardy
Genosis has the future of the Galactic Republic at stake
Advantage: Helm's Deep

Comic relief
Helm's Deep has Gimli
Genosis has C-3PO
Advantage: Helm's Deep

Hero
Helm's Deep has Gandalf showing up to save the day.
Genosis has Yoda showing up to save the day.
Advantage:Owns you, Yoda will.

Climax
Helm's Deep has Gandalf's charge
Genosis has a Yoda vs. Dooku lightsabre fight

Tough one.. IMO, Genosis takes it, by a hair

Thanks for everyone's suggestions, I was thinking of doing a historical battle next.. like Battle of Falkirk (from Braveheart) vs. something else..

Well, I do have to note the Matrix Revolutions "Dock" Scene between the machines (sentinels and diggers) and the humans was a fantastic thrill. I'll make no notes about the rest of the movie, but that scene for was quite well done for a fight scene.

My favorite has to be the Enterprise (Kirk) vs. Reliant (Khan) in Star Trek II and the final battle between the world's fighter planes vs. the City Destroyer over Area 51 in Independence Day.

What about some anime sci-fi epics?
