Just watched some of the vids here and thought hey i could do that :guilty: well after 2 nights of constant swearing and fits i can finally get my car to drift poorly...........YAY 👍 I have to say this drifting is very addictive im just worried im going to forget how to take corners without loosing some traction?

I ended up being most happy with a car i wouldnt really call a drifter, the lotus carlton with little over 411 hp it works pretty damned good, only strange thing im finding is this car works better with its stock weight of 1500 kg i would have thought lighter the better?

There isnt really a point to the thread just wanted to give a little insight into how i have started drifting 👍

Just keep practicing it takes time. I practice in 10 lap stints once or twice a day minimal. You may want to practive with a smaller lower powered car to learn how to manipulate the physics engine.

Yeah ol' Swifty may be here soon...

gotta get my word in before its closed, carlton was the 2nd car i learned to drift with, try some silvias, theyre fun :)

yes, the Carlton can be a pretty formidable drifter - I've dabbled with the setup of one a little bit. I had full lightening on mine and liked it in that configuration.

What you may be enjoying is a larger amount of lateral weight transfer with that chubby car. The greater weight will result in greater force applied to the tires when an acceleration (lateral or longitudinal) is applied to the car - this can help to destabilize the car if you're using the feint technique. It also helps to extend drifts once you get goin sideways due to the greater momentum (good or bad dependent on how tight the course is). You can initiate a drift very early with it.

I preferred mine lighter to improve steering response, - but to each his own. Everyone has their own methods of setting a car.

and ya, dont be surprised if a lock shows up on this one.....you kinda set yourself up for it here:

Seriously, what's the deal with that? No point to the thread? Then why make it. Come on, we have to be smarter then this around here guys.

I hope your next thread has a bit more substance and isn't so self destructive.
