These videos were inspired when a bunch of rugby fans on youtube started claiming wearing pads and a helemt made american football players wimps. First off, I respect rugby and realize it is a very tough game, but nobody hits harder than American football.

Why?

Well in rugby the players can't be that big because you have to be constantly running up and down a field with no breaks. The biggest rugby players are around 6' 2" and 220lbs while the biggest football players can be 6'10" and 370lbs. In the NFL and most major colleges if you weigh under 300lbs you won't even be considered to play on the line.

Also the vertical passing in american fooball can create much more violent impacts than in rugby where the players are usually all running in the same direction.

Pads and helmets are necessary for American Football as these videos show. Imagine if the players who get knocked out in the videos weren't wearing a helmet
