The history of Greece in Motorsport racing is very popular and started many years ago ,most popular race was the Acropolis rally one of the most iconic events from WRC

Sebastian loeb is one of the modern masters through a mix of dirt, rock, sand and tar some of the types of ground that the drivers have to deal with through the event .
Back in the old days Greece was a racing paradise with the inclusion of the group B cars and drivers as Ari Vatanen , Henry Toivonen , Markku Alen , Juha Kankkunen and the mighty women driver Michele Mouton are some of the heroes of rallying.
Acropolis might be one of the most challenging events in the world but throughout the cities of Greece there is only one kind of racing that pumps up your blood while heavily tuned cars fly by through twisty roads on untamed mountains,The Hill climb championship

Mountain roads as Ritsona,Portaria ,Oblos are one of the best sprints in Greece.
With all that i would like to ask PD to make a trip there so Kaz would see the magic of Greece and hopefully bring that magic to are systems and a little respect to a place that its name is well known in the history of Racing.

I thought Greece had been broken up and the bits floated up to Norway to fill in the holes at the edges? Once Demis Roussos died there wasn't much left of the country.

Seriously though... nice OP, very interesting. I'd recommend watching the vids to anyone who didn't!

Nice idea!!!

Never heard of any Greek related racing, that's all. Don't take my ignorance too seriously.
I hadn't heard of the hillclimb but the WRC stages, those are pretty famous alright. Some good elevation changes and hairpin switchbacks which gave me hours of fun in WRC 3 and 4.

I have nothing against Greece, it is a marvelous place but why is this topic under GT6 section?

I think every country is a racing paradise. Imagine if everyone here write topics about their country... :)

Its here cause we greeks are asking for some respect and that greece as a location must be in gt6 or gt7 just because of its racing history.

I would love to have roads like that to race on gt6 im kinda a sprint race guy and thats what Gt6 is missing sprints and hill climbs, this is not only for Greece but it would be a good start for PD.

I thought Greece was sold to Fiat when they bought Chrysler? Rumour has it that it went cheap too - 4 meatballs and a bowl of spaghetti:eek::cheers:

Most first world countries have a motor racing heritage and I'd like to see PD and Kaz spread the wealth around a bit and purposely choose to model tracks from different countries than those that are already in the game. An Acropolis based rally stage would fit that mold but I have a feeling Rally isn't real big in their plans for the future.

I thought Greece was auctioned off on EBAY? Just kidding. It's a beautiful country.

I would welcome a decent hill climb. Goodwood does not give a sense of elevation change at all. It feels like it's in the praries somewhere.

Anyway, I'm a long term fan of WRC. Any real world rally course would be welcomed.

I heard that once they'd shut down the Taramasalata and Houmous factories... they went into a double-dip recession.

B'dum-tsh.

Some hillclimb stages through the Greek countryside would certainly be epic - as everyone's saying it really is a very beautiful country.

The reason i made this thread is because of the inclusion of Rhonda and toscana not that i dont like spain or italy but a greek mountain road would be way more interesting to drive than a road next to wide open fields.

This is nice, but for some reason a real Ancient Greek Rally/Rallycross track and/or dirt oval would be the best way to go. Imagine having a Special stage in an ancient Greek amphitheater at its prime or having an epic photomode location or rally stage at THE temple to Apollo or dirt oval racing in a traditional Greek stadium.

Yes, I know, this is what happens when you let a history nerd loose in a car game, thank you

If you lose, you get fed to the lions.
