The latest images and videos that came out of this past weekend, coupled with the bits of the 24 hours Nurburgring that i watched has really renewed my interest in GT5.

My concern is that Poly. will neglect to include some classic cars that really defined an era for the German auto industry. Namely the Mercedes 190E and the BMW e30 M3.

Before any of you jump on my back for the lack of relevance, or whatever you will find complaint with... take a look at this

Along that same line, i hope to see 90's era German cars. E36 M3, M5, AMG Mercedes, and on and on. Online DTM races through The Green Hell would be epic.

The 190E was included in GT4.. Both street and DTM trim.
 
We have enough wishlists where all your mentioned cars were already posted.
The 190E EvoII was in GT4 btw. (street and DTM version).

EDIT: Slow Ace is slow. :lol:
 
GT4 already included both the 190E Evolution2 in road car version as well as the DTM version, so it isn't overlooked by them.
Whether we'll see it again in GT5 ( maybe even alongside the e30 M3 ) isn't known yet as most cars included still need to be confirmed.
So they're aware of the 190 ( and ofcourse they must aware of the e30 ) but it remains their decision which cars will be included and sometimes even the cars they want in don't end up in the game due to other reasons ( licencing, unavailable to model, etc. ).

Yeah I remember my first Nordschleife ride with the old Mercedes DTM car in GT4. I think it was an driving license test. Great car!

And yeah, german cars rule. And they were well represented in GT4. The most noticeable absence was the E30 M3 as you stated.
 
As the video does a perfect job of highlighting, DTM in the 80's was a battle between the 190E and the E30 M3. The success of the E30 M3 lead to later generation M cars, and equally, the 190E really grew the fame of AMG.

Unfortunately, what prologue and GT4 gave us was a sparse selection. I have no interested in the bloated, heavy, cush accessory laden e90 M3... the E30 and E36 were track cars... its a shame BMW has moved away from producing light agile road cars... it is equally a shame that the "new bmw" is all that is currently showcased by Poly.

Only a hope, and sorry for duplication or not jumping on the 1000 page long wishlist bandwagon. I simply thought this weekends 24 hour race made the post unique enough to run solo.... especially considering that video link is ef'n awesome.

No doubt the e30 would be awsome,its the only car i know tht can really give the benz a gud run but no beat it,categorically speaking of coarse. The 190 is a cracking car to drive,the best for me in GT4 and its true character came out on the ring.e30 on the ring is on the wishlist...

Agreed 100%. But don't forget the Omega, V8 Quattro and, oh yeah, the Ruch Mustangs. I also hope they add the first generation C-class to complete the Class 1 field (the Calibra and 155 have been in past titles).

Nce video! Still, I must admit that I'm surprised at how many sparks I was looking at there, as people here have been saying the new sparks in GT5 have been overdone and make it look like Burnout ;)

I doubt anyone could watch that last video and then say sparks make GT less of a simulation.

Sparks from tarmac are great... car to car though!? They should turn those off.

Loving the first vid. Compared to vid3 of the tribute the cars are just so raw! I love them. So exciting, cant wait for a full on dtm race around the ring with some of you guys
 
Just to clarify, the original video i posted is not my creation... it is the work of the very skilled video editor DTMEnthusiast (http://www.youtube.com/user/DTMEnthusiast). He has an extreme passion for DTM (past & present) - as evident in L8 Apex's post.

Totally agree about the slow motion drifts. The white e30 sliding at 0:59 (in The Golden Years) is epic.

I wish everyone knew how many times this has played in my head reading all the sparks comments.

Anyways, I've seen enough footage, and enough demos. That is, unless a demo is coming West Virginia, Ohio, or Kentucky! :sly:
