Hi, everybody

I found GT Planet by doing internet searches. I decided I needed to read the discussions about suspension tuning, especially with regard to the older cars.

With newer cars I can easily research aftermarket coil-overs and plug in those spring rates. :) But, it's harder to find info on the musclecars, much less info that helps in GT5.

I grew up in North Carolina, lived in New Mexico (the 47th state) for a while, and currently live in Florida. In real life I own a bunch of Japanese cars, but I also think old musclecars are cool. In New Mexico, I became good friends with the founder of the local Mustang club, and we did autocross and played some GT4 together. So, as much as I like my Evo X and S13 240SX, I'd still like an old-skool ride like a '69 Mustang or GTO. Maybe a '68 Firebird or '70 GSX...

I've been playing Gran Turismo since the summer of 1997. I started autocross that fall. I still have copies of ALL the Gran Turismo games. When I bought my PS3, I made sure I could still play the original GT if I felt like it.

I'm deployed to a desert right now, but I have my PS2 and GT4 with me. It's a good thing, too, because the rec room here doesn't have any Gran Turismo games, and their PS3s aren't downward compatible (cheapskates!)

My favorite game is Gran Turismo 4, but I know GT5 will improve with downloads.

I tried Forza Motorsport 2 at my brother-in-law's house, and found several things that I liked about it. I think they did well with the level of detail on modifications, I liked the system for painting new colors and graphics on cars, and I liked the selection of cars (had to try the '68 GTO as soon as I could afford it). I thought it was easier to learn than Gran Turismo, which is probably good for the more casual players.

I also don't want to spend the money for an X-Box when I already have a PS2, PSP, PS3, and all the GT games.

In addition to ideas for suspension settings, I was also hoping to find people who have similar ideas about how to improve the game. There are probably threads about the painting system, what cars to add, how much quieter the customizeable transmission should be, and so on.

If we can all just get along, and I don't piss anyone off, that's even better. I can always hope!

Welcome to GTPlanet, BluEvo210!

Do you still take part in Autocross? Perhaps you could make a thread in the Motorsport subforum to recount your exploits!
